Above you, stars prick an endless black universe. Orbiting the planet's surface are space stations blooming with life. Starships dock at the stations and then travel beyond, into the unknown.

STAR FRONTIERS takes place in a spiral galaxy,
near the center where the stars are more closely packed.
A Human race, similar to that on Earth, lives in this region of space
and has made contact with a pragmatic insectoid race called the Vrusk,
a race of form-shifting amemboids called Dralasites, and a war-like
race of agile monkey-men called Yazirians.
You are in the realm of STAR FRONTIERS.

Surprisingly, the four races got along quite well, but happy days would only last so long. . .
Then came the Sathar, a mysterious race of slimy worm-like creatures. No one knew from where they came, or why they came, or pretty much anything about them except that they were intent on one thing: conquering the area through unconditional annihilation.
Humans, Yazirians, Dralasites and Vrusk united in defense against the Sathar, forming a military power now referred to as the United Planetary Federation. The area of space inhabited by these four races became known as the Frontier.
In time, the UPF extended its purpose and began to protect the Frontier from internal threats as well. To do this, it created a new branch, Star Law, whose purpose is to battle interstellar crime and piracy. (Most crime on a planetary level is handled by a planet's local government and law enforcement.)

One of the big appeals of STAR FRONTIERS is its open setting.
The makers of the game created an environment of planets as diverse as the nations of Earth,
various races, bodies of authority and, to make things interesting, a common enemy.
But what you want to do with this environment is up to you.
STAR FRONTIERS referees are free to set up campaigns where the players
are soldiers waging war against the Sathar, law officers chasing pirates,
adventurers exploring new areas of space, business people setting up
commerce in the Frontier, spies, mercenaries or whatever you can imagine.
The main purpose of this site is to focus on the great stories
