| Medium Carnivore | Move: Fast |
| Number - 1 | Attack: +3 |
| IM/RS: 6/60 | Damage: 56 bite |
| STA: 120 | Chance of encounter: 5% every two daytime hours while on foot in grasslands and swamp |
Notes:
Despite its name, the dragon is actually a mammal. It has a large mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth. It usually lies in the cover of the tall grasses, waiting to pounce on one of the several varieties of antelope-like herbivores that roam the lush grasslands. It will flee if its STA is reduced below 70.
| Small Carnivore | Move: Fast |
| Number - 10-30 (roll 3d10, re-roll if <10) | Attack: +1 |
| IM/RS: 6/60 | Damage: 36 bite/claw |
| STA: 35 | Chance of encounter: 5% every two hours at night while on foot in grasslands or forest. |
Notes:
Not true wolves, they do not appear to be canine, looking more like big-eyed badgers than anything else. They are the size of a medium sized dog. The plains variety has dark gray fur, while the forest wolves have dark brown fur.
Very intelligent, they use cooperative tactics to bring down prey much larger than themselves. They will form a ring (about 10 m in diameter, depending on the specific circumstances) around their intended victim, attempting to separate it from its fellows. Then they simultaneously set upon it, tearing the unfortunate victim to pieces in seconds. They will usually retreat if more than one third are killed in an encounter.
| Medium Carnivore | Move: Very Fast |
| Number - 1-2 | Attack: +4 |
| IM/RS: 8/80 | Damage: 36 talon, bite |
| STA: 50 | Chance of encounter: 5% each day while on foot in grasslands or forest |
Notes:
Raptors are large birdlike predators. Their main prey is other birds, which they can pluck from the sky with amazing speed, and small ground mammals (mice etc.). However, raptors have been known to take small antelope and other small herbivore from the ground. Raptors should not be a threat to PC's unless one is an Ifshnit or small Dralasite; a raptor might be tempted to try for one of these. It will find a Dralasite too heavy to lift, but a thirty-kilo Ifshnit could be carried a short distance (no more than half a km, less if the PC is carrying a heavy load of equipment).
| Large Omnivore | Move: Medium |
| Number - 1 | Attack: +2 |
| IM/RS: 5/50 | Damage: 56 bite/claw |
| STA: 120 | Chance of encounter: Special |
Notes:
Selenarctos are large, bearlike mammals. They inhabit the forests, and will not attack PC's unless provoked. However, the selenarcto will consider the PC's approaching its den to be provocation. The den is always well hidden, and the PC's will not notice they are near it without a successful check of a Concealment skill and/or INT check. If an intuition check is the warning, the selenarcto still has a 50% chance to attack. If the warning comes from a concealment skill check, then the characters are assumed to have noticed it while still far enough from the den not to provoke the selenarcto. There is a 5% chance that the PC's will encounter a selenarcto den every two hours they travel by foot in forest.
Poison Grass Pollen: -2 STA points per hour that the character does not wear a gas mask, or ride in explorer.
