Twilight Dancer Post 3

by Dean Bailey
Everyone was feeling pretty good and it seemed as if 9 Troop would indeed
become a tight unit. It's a shame not all of the team could be here.
"...and I couldn't believe she did that! Man, what was her name..."
The place was moderately crowded now as shifts were changing over on AGRICO
LON. We'd have to remember this place next time we come through...
A small scuffle broke out in the back corner of the bar. A common thing,
so not many of the group paid much attention to it. Probably someone losing
ungracefully at the spontaneous card and dice games that seem to pop up all
the time.
"...but the Yazarian Ale was (Ompf!)"
A Dralasite in the KNEIS-ENAU's spotless uniform slamed into the back of
Dorn's chair, knocking him to the floor with the impact. All of you jump up
and for the first time, you notice the extent of the fighting in the back
corner.
Several beings were in the back slugging it out with one another and it
seemed that more and more were becoming involved as the seconds passed.
Mostly, it seemed, crew members of the KNEIS-ENAU were becoming involved
with a motley crew of spacers not wearing any uniforms at all.
" STOP!" bellowed the Vrusk behind the counter. He stepped up over the
bar with a stun stick in one hand and an electro-shock glove on the other.
The glove arced in a blue nimbus of electicity as the barkeep's centipede
like movements took him back to the flooring.
From amidst the tumult, a single pencil thin beam of scarlet light lanced
out of the crowd and touched the Vrusk on the center of his neck. A
yellowish/white ichor of Vrusken blood burst from the wound and the barkeep
crashed to the deck plates. A thick pool was already oozing out around him.
For the next few seconds, pandemonium reigned in the bar.
Hold-out blasters, stun-sticks and Shockgloves and knives appear from
seemingly thin air and the fighting really begins. Everyone trying to get to
exits was a natural enough catalyst as there were not enough. K-E crewman
jumping in to help out their shipmates, the locals helping out their friends,
other ships crews...
   WHAM! Pzzzzzit(thump).
Several beings were sprawled upon the floor and pieces of the plastic
furniture.
Hhuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmm... The stale station air buzzed with
electicity.
Legionaire Arimos, ducking a hurled tubeglass, hollers to the rest of the
troop, "Hey! OK folks, one of us is down!" He is pointing wildly at the
doorway in the back of the bar. Through the masses of fists and the random
laser pulse, each of you can make out the form of Akahi sprawled out on the
deck.
   "Akahi!"

*****
   [WHIIIIIIIIIRRP....WHIIIIIIIIIRRP...WHIIIIIIIIIRRP] "Station Security to
2 deck...Station Security to 2 deck. Code red. Code red. Medical teams 4
and 18 report to 2 deck immediately."

Alright. Each of you email me what you want to do by Fri THIS week. I will
post outcome in Post #4 (week-after-next). I need to know details so be
descriptive. The bar is in complete pandemonium and the fight is all to your
front /left as the bar is an inverted L shaped room and you are in the long
part of it. The beings that could get out, have. remember, you have no
weapons while you are here stationside. While not a shoot-out gunfight,
several shots have been fired. No one has paired up against you (yet), but
should you move toward Akahi you will have to wade right through the thick of
the fight. There is a door behind you to the outside coridor.
   Talk to each other!
