Hey Layne, please post.

If Kare has any reason to believe that teammate T'klkk will be unable to
escape Style and his boys, she will attempt to gain their confidence.

"Hey, F*&^+%$#@ face, Streel is mine! As is all streel property on this
rock. I have a buyer for him a Minataur station, the buyer wishes to
damage the reputation of the Streel family and Corp. by ransoming him
back to the family. Hes worth more alive then died. I could be talked
into letting you have say...30 percent. But I get to keep the
Metrosphere bank balances and the patent office records. I get to keep
them because I know were they're at. Plus I have a ship to take us off
planet. Blackjack and the rest of Gypsy Moon are waiting aboard the
Cleopatra as we speak. They were just waiting for me to loose
these...do gooders, and to take what is rightfully mine...ours."

Kare will attempt to talk Styles into letting her come along, regardless
of what she has to promise. But she will make it clear that working
together is far better then working alone...she can give him instant
transportation, resources, skills, etc. Plus they have a common goal.

If Styles is focused on killing Streel then Kare suggests that thats
fine, as long as they take the body, to ransom it later. It doesn't
matter, all Kare wants is to get out of her bonds and spring the trap on
Styles and his boys.

If shes able to trap Styles and the Boys, she will free the others and
secure Styles as best she can. She will against calling the police or
notifying anyone. It is her hope that they can use truth sernum on they
and take their identies. Once shes dragged them to a "safe" house she
will ask Zane to install passive tracer implants. Somewhere no one
could find them, not even the prisoners. The implant should also be
ceramic so that metal detectors won't show them.

"You handsome devil you, come over here and untie me"

From: Andy Campbell (Urugg) << Zane speaking to Urugg(and Taanik if he's still coherent), "I don't know if Meimen can last until T'Klkk and Kare can get here. We better do something. Let's throw in a doze grenade or two. If Meimen dies we won't find anything out. Maybe we can stage it to look like Taanik saved him by himself. That could be the break we needed - getting him to trust Taanik." >> Time stands still for a moment as Urugg's dormant combat instincts snap awake and adrenalin floods his wiry frame. "Hold on a sec Zane. These boys look ready to rumble and they may not go down from just a Doze." [Urugg is referring to the fact that on a roll of their STA or less they stay up, so they probably have a 50/50 chance of success. Urugg quickly reaches into his kit bag and pulls on his gas mask. He then grabs a tangler grenade.] "OK - you toss the Doze and I'll throw a Tangler! Then I'll try to smack some sense into these jokers. Cover me when I go in. Ready - now!" [With that, Urugg pulls the pin and lobs his tangler grenade at the knot of human thugs thumping Miemen. He then draws his stunstick [set for damage, not stun] from its belt holster and quietly weaves through the crowd clearing away from the brawl. Once he's within reach of the thugs (hopefully one or more will be dozing or tangled by now) - or as soon as they notice him - he will assume combat stance and attack with the stunstick.] Time seems to stand still as Urugg's arm falls and the grenade arcs across the room at the humans. His right hand drops instinctively to his side, thumbing open the tab-seal on his stunstick's holster as he stalks towards his targets. Drawing the stick, Urugg slides its control stud to damage setting and goes into action. He sidesteps quietly through the crowd as it streams away from the brawl, keeping his head low - trying to make the gas mask strapped to his face less visible to his quarry. As the men react to the grenades, he quickens his pace to the loping run of his kind and closes. Moving quickly now, Urugg feels his gut twist and his mind race as the pent-up frustration of the past months rises within him. Loehr's stinging words echo in his head: "You once fought on the side of environments that could not defend themselves... But to be frank, I find your newly found sense of compromise disheartening." Compromise! Living trapped in a tin-can colony instead of the open air. Hiring out to the very type of megacorp he once railed against. Watching his teammates beaten by enraged mobs, lying bruised in the hospital. Compromise! Crossing the final meters to Miemen and ids attackers, Urugg bares his canines and lets out a silent snarl. As his clenched fist brings the gleaming stunstick down on the nearest human, the tall Yazirian doesn't even hear the ferile howl that escapes his lips. [Roll for Battle Rage Layne! Whether the roll succeeds or not, Urugg is one honked-off Yazirian and he ain't taking this one sitting down.] ---------------------------------- Player notes: Urugg's reaction to this situation is gut level; it looks to him like Miemen may buy the farm in short order and someone's got to get the brutes off id. After the fight is resolved, Urugg's reasoning / rationalization is that having Taanik save the dealer might work, but id (Taanik) isn't looking too good and one strung-out junkie dralasite (from Miemen's POV) would be an unlikely candidate to overpower and / or drive off three large and angry human thugs. If asked later Urugg will make this point as much to cover his own impetuous rage as to explain his reasoning. Whether he comes out of the melee victorious or gets a sound thumping, Urugg will be embarassed about giving in to his feral instincts and will remain vaguely uncomfortable around his teammates for a few days. If Urugg does come out on top, he will administer first aid (stimdose or staydose) to any of the humans if they need it. In any case, if one or more of them are apprehended Urugg will interrogate them when things quiet down in one of our apartments (as was done with the red-eyed human female) or at the police facility using Telol and / or hypnosis as necessary; he will invite any and all of his teammates (esp. Zane) to help with the interrogation. Intent is to find out why they attacked Miemen, who (if anyone) they work for, where else they buy their drugs and what they know about the criminal underworld of M-sphere (ie. crime bosses, smugglers, gangs - anything that might be relevant). In the immediate future (ie. during the brawl or in the aftermath), if our trapped teammates radio Urugg or his other 'mates (or leave the comm open so we can hear what's going on), Urugg will immediately break off from the Miemen situation. He will grab his kitbag on the way out of the lounge and race to help his endangered teammates. Enroute he will inform Lt. Ap-Harrow of the situation but tell her to keep her teams out of the way / as backup so there's no friendly fire problem. Once near his teammates' position, he will approach the trap area from the outside end of the vents, keeping his needler in hand (loaded with poison clip) and his stunstyick ready (still set for damage). He will use stealth in an attempt to get to the scene without being detected. All for now : ) Andy / Urugg
From: Ken Morefield (Zane) Urugg sid to Zane <<"OK - you toss the Doze and I'll throw a Tangler! Then I'll try to smack some sense into these jokers. Cover me when I go in. Ready - now!">> [With that, Urugg pulls the pin and lobs his tangler grenade at the knot of human thugs thumping Miemen. He then draws his stunstick from its belt holster and quietly weaves through the crowd clearing away from the brawl. Once he's within reach of the thugs (hopefully one or more will be dozing or tangled by now) - or as soon as they notice him - he will assume combat stance and attack with the stunstick.]>> Zane shouting to Urugg: "Urugg, I don't have any doze grenades! It was just a suggestion! Oh hell, he can't hear me. Guess we gotta do it the hard way." With that Zane slips on his brass knuckles and runs after Urugg to attack the thugs. "Time to see if all those karate lessons were worth the money." If we win the fight then Zane will be REALLY wound up. It's his first real fight. He'll go hang out with Urugg until he finds out about T'Klkk and Kare's situation. If the fight goes bad then I guess he's got something in his medkit to patch anyone up or at least relieve their pain. "Oh my Gosh! Poor Taanik." Zane administers the antidote as soon as things calm down.
From: Ken Morefield (Zane) Once Zane reaches the fight he will kick out the legs on the nearest thug. He will then attempt to take out another one with his brass knuckles. If he is grabbed by any of them he will use the Martial Arts subskill of Deffensive Throwing. If the thugs attempt to flee he will only persue if Urugg does. And then only to keep Urugg from getting jumped on his own. Zane will also try to sell his (and maybe Urugg's) service as bodyguards to Miemen. Maybe we can learn something that way. I can't wait to see how this all turns out. Ken
From: Albin Johnson (Syzygy) A pistachio shell falls to the floorplates, landing in a pile of others next to an inconspicuous column across the street from the square. Syzygy's compound eyes narrow as he takes in the rapidly changing situation. Variables of movement, attack posture, and threat analysis run through his mind. Hunkered down behind a crete pillar some meters away, he sees Urugg charging the melee, the crowds slowly reacting to the panic and panicking themselves, the reluctant human slipping on the brass knuckles and following Urugg into the fray. (munch, munch) "Damn humanoids...always the same with them...fight, fight, fight.", he grumbles speculatively. He keys his comm.: "Urugg, be careful...I'm watching you from above. Got two on your flank - none of 'em know your coming. Zane...close the distance with Urugg and watch his back. You two make it look like yer bodyguards for Taanik - only plausible reason you'd be getting involved." With that he switches off the channel and levels his gyrojet pistol at the tumultuous throng. His right eye narrows again as it looks down the sights of his gyrojet pistol, taking careful aim at the head of the pack of hoodlums. His mind takes a moment to observe the almost-primitive behaviour of this pack of thugs....could they be more than they appeared? He tries comprehending their behavior as well as looking for markings of their loyalties, noting their uniforms, what boots they are wearing. Most importantly he will watch Taanik Miemen - if either comes under threat he will fire at their attacker(s) - if Miemen tries to sneak off Syzygy will employ amazing speed to pursue him, even if it means leaving the immediate area. After long seconds he sees Urugg drop into the predatory stride of his people and clicks in curiosity and amazement. "Lords of the Hive....look at him go! Moves like a Zeeracat! Wish I could just watch this go on, but..." The gyrojet levels and fires twice. ----------------------------------------- After the fray the others will doubtlessly be rounding up or chasing the thugs while Zane will want to take care of Taanik. Syzygy will take the time to watch the crowds, see if there are more like these dopes watching and waiting or leaving to report the event. Also, if the police arrive, he will be the one to intercept them and explain before they come crashing down on us all. Most importantly Syzygy will be the one to make sure Miemen stays put, tangling id if he has to. Once things have settled down he will report in to Honeybee. If she doesn't respond it will seem odd, but not alarming. Syzygy will report this to Urugg and the others.
From: John Whitfield (T'Klkk) Layne, you said respond to the immediate situation, so here goes. T'Klkk will recline on the nearest bench and start buffing her carapace with expensive oil....Just kidding! :-) As T'Klkk observes her surroundings, she assesses that the circumstances are less than ideal: both teammates are held fast by tangler strands, the team's nemesis is standing in front of her armed with assassinator rounds, he is quite aggitated and seems less than rational. What to do, what to do.... Since, when we last left our heroine she was still talking to Syzygy via the chronocom, she'll leave the channel open so that he gets a play-by-play and will trust that he will summon help as appropriate. Her main focus will be on subduing Syte and ensuring that Kare and Tork are safe. At this point, she does not see a way around combat since he does not seem to be in the talking mood and since diplomacy is not her strong suit anyway. Her response is to go for a quick-draw of her projectile pistol and squeeze off 3 shots; while doing so, she will dodge to avoid being hit by needler rounds. She's counting on her Vrusk reflexes being quicker than those of Humans. She's also counting on her training as a sharpshooter!! She'll then rush Syte and try to knock the needler pistol out of his hand using either her Melee skill or her Electric Sword, depending upon which would be the easiest and most efficient (a Logic roll here maybe??). (If I remember correctly, the sword was set on stun last time she played with it, but you may want to check on that one!). If it is not possible for her to close on him, she'll continue firing 3 shots per turn at him while also trying to dodge his needles. If there is a convenient opporunity during this frey, she'll try to toss a vial of solvaway at Tork and hope that it will break and dissolve the tangler strands. She has 3 vials and if at first she doesn't succeed, she'll try and try again, provided she has a chance. T'Klkk will persist with combat until Syte surrenders or until one of them drops. She will try to steer the combat further and further away from her teammates if at all possible. And, if we survive it all, she'll still attend the dinner engagement with Syzygy. I've seen what my pal Al has cooked up for this (what a stinker!!) and T'Klkk will be appropriate surprised/shocked. She'll ask if there was some kind of communication problem on her part since she had the understanding that she was taking Syzygy out and not the other way around. If he insists on paying, she'll concede rather than hurt his feelings, but she'll also tell him that she now owes him two dinners. And no, Al, she won't hop into the sack with him! :-) She's not that kinda gal. I can hardly wait to see what happens next!! -JWW
From: Albin Johnson (Syzygy) >Since, when we last left our heroine she was still talking >to Syzygy via the chronocom, she'll leave the channel >open so that he gets a play-by-play and will trust that he >will summon help as appropriate. OOC: This is up to the GM. If the chronocom channel is open and Syzygy is able to make out the details of what's happening, the situation in the air ducts becomes his #1 priority. Believing Urugg and Zane can handle things in a pinch and that the danger factor isn't quite as high as it is with the others, he will bolt for the nearest, fastest transportation to intercept the situation. Along the way he will try to think of any way he can hit a computer terminal along the way and help remotely if that would be faster - perhaps send a great blast of air through the vent to knock Syte off-guard and give T'Klkk a chance or just call security. In fact, along the way he WILL call security as well as notify Urugg or Zane of what's going on. The dinner episode (if applicable) >She'll ask if >there was some kind of communication problem on her >part since she had the understanding that she was >taking Syzygy out and not the other way around. If he >insists on paying, she'll concede rather than hurt his >feelings, but she'll also tell him that she now owes him >two dinners. Syzygy will grin with frustration at her rigid manners. "Beautiful, if you wanna insist on hanging onto out-dated Vruskan customs here that's your business. But you don't owe me a thing. Your company is enough payment, without sounding droll." He proceeds to enjoying the meal, refusing to let her dry manner ruin a perfectly good Dralasite steam-cooked Hohfa dish. All the while he will regale her with jokes and stories, his endless chatter a clear sign he hasn't had the opportunity to converse with many Vrusk before. The end of the dinner comes and Syzygy makes his feelings known. When T'Klkk politely (or unpolitely for that matter - she could kick his ass if she wanted to!) refuses Syzygy will shrug and cast a sly grin at her. "Well, you can't blame a bug for trying, sweetie. Sorry to hear your life is all business...me, I've been too close to death too many times to be too formal. I just hope you don't think me a swine...I certainly accord you all the respect a professional like yourself deserves. I just thought it'd be nice for two people in our lonely business to share some company. I apologize if you were offended and will politely drop it." With that, he will let her talk about whatever she wants to discuss, or just walk her home.
From: John Groszkiewicz (Tork) Greetings, Sorry I'm so late on this move. This week has been a little hectic. Tork is very upset at his current situation and everything about him suggests that given the opportunity he will rip Dakka's head off and spit down the hole! Considering the Tork's inability to do that at the moment, Tork would rather let Dakka pass the group and hope that either 1) Dakka gets caught in our trap, or 2) we can free ourselves and catch up to Dakka. Tork will do whatever he can to try and free himself from the tangler strands. If Dakka is still in the area when Tork gets free, Tork will take the first opportunity to attack Dakka. If Dakka is close Tork will rush him and use his Martial Arts training to disarm and capture Dakka. If this move is not possible Tork will grab some cover and open up with his autopistol. I would love to toss a tangler and give Dakka a dose of "his own medicine" but Tork appears to be out of tanglers at the moment. :( IF Dakka gets flees the area Tork will follow unless one of the others is seriously injured. Layne, there are a couple things about this encounter that I am curious about. Tork is not of the state of mind to be thinking about them but once he calms down... 1. Are Dakka Stye's eyes burning with insanity or the Rage? 2. If Dakka is working with the Lost Pointers ( ouch, sounds like bad computer coding... ) why is he not wearing one of their "invisiblity suits"? This thought will get Tork's mind working... If Dakka is not working with the Lost Pointers then who changed the computer codes, Dakka or Snarr? Could Dakka be convinced to work with us against Snarr? .... From: Ruben Rivera (Kare) Layne please post Well, well, well... If Kare can't get Styles to take her with him, she will do something equally productive, place blame. "NICE GOING TORK, WHY DID YOU TELL ME THERE WAS A HORDE OF PSYCO-TERRORIST BEHIND ME!" After which she will remember that she forgot to tighten the top of the vial of solvaway in her backpack. She had been meaning to tight it for weeks now..."What a lucky break" she'll say as the solvaway leaks through the backpack and the gooey web falls off of her. She'll consider leaving Tork behind...naw, the terrorist will need to shoot at someone...why not Tork. Plus she'll release lady bugface if needed. Then she'll call Streel and explain that it is very important that he leaves his office and or leaving a holo projection in its place. Plus she'll contact her other team mates. "Gentlemen, I hate to break up your little fun...but, you may be witnessing a diversion. A attack to draw police attention in a false direction. May I suggest that you get your slacker a@$*!% to Mr. Streel's office!" At which point Kare changes her role to warrior goddess and starts hunting down terrorist. Lucky the vial cap fell off. It could happen! Ruben
