From: Ruben Rivera (Kare)
ALRIGHT WE WIN!!!
So what do we do now? If Kare has to give Zane mouth to mouth to save
him...well Zane is going to die. Actually, Kare has much experience
with war wounded and will "search" for any obvious problems. IE broken
bones, bleeding, etc. She has no med skills but she does have medical
supplies on her person. With a hypo spray she should have a fair chance
of "juice'n" Zane well enough.
Kare has no illusion that the security system is back to normal. The
computer maybe down, but she expects that the robots will be acting out
their last orders. Communications seems to be active. She will contact
bug boy and ask him what he can do with his computer. (if he can send
commands with his stand alone computer, he might be able to fix things,
communications is still up). Kare wants limited trouble getting Zanes
body, dead or alive to the medical center.
Kare has lead sentients in battle before, and understands the value of
developed assets. Plus Zane give her a "little prick" of stim dose more
then once. (Deeply sorry, I've been trying to fit that slang/slander in
all game)
Anyway, once it becomes apparent that the groups survival is assured,
Kare will run off and befriend one of the lost pointers and invit him
back to her place. When he wakes up he will think he had a good time,
and Kare will be smiling. She will be smiling because she took his suit
apart and copied every fiber of it on a data chip. Old habits die hard.
Kare will also visit bugface Zed and if she can't find the Streel
security defeating program, she will ask to see it. She will then
playfully put it in her pocket. If Zed asks for it back she will give
him the data chip back...well a data chip, a blank one. She will copy
the program and give the orginal back to bug boy. If he still catchs
her she will offer to trade something for it. Examples of trade items
include, she will let him set up 3D image device in her apartment to
capture a good image of bug girl for his porn collection, or she will
offer to trade one of her covert programs to him (all she wants is a
copy) such as the prog 'Siren Song' or the 'Trojan Horse' virus.
Plus room service is going to be disappointed when they find the holo
projector is missing.
All in good fun.
If the group cant find Dakka, Kare will find a rifle (hers is more then
likely slag by now) and form a posse. Loose ends.
Kare will static burst all her collected info and BlackJack and the
Gypsy Moon Corporation, she will have to gauge if she needs to call for
a ride. If she believes that Streel Corp execs are coming, she is
getting out of town. Anyone one need a ride.
Lastly, as Captain of the Whisper, Kare will create metals and give them
to Zane.

What to do, What to do...
Tork finds himself torn in several directions. He wants to run and see if
he can help Zane, the people of Metroshere need to be unchained, there may
be robots lurking about, and Tork wants to FIND DAKKA!
Okay, immediate priorities... [1] Keep the machine gun :), [2] the
residential areas and the medical center are in the lower level so Tork will
suggest that the team converge on Kare's position. On the way Tork will keep
both eyes open for hostile activity. From there we can head to the lower
level. We can try and free Captain Ap-Harrow on our way to the medical
facility or shortly after getting Zane there.
( Unless Metrosphere appears to be ready to collapse Tork will not argue
with Kare's plan to get Zane to the medical facility. )
Once Captain Ap-Harrow is freed it would also be a good time to join Kare's
posse to find Dakka. Tork wants to make sure that SOB is DOA.
Short term goals: Tork would love to get one of those Shadow suits and if
the opportunity arises... :) Tork's next move is going to depend on Zane
and the team. If Zane is DOA Tork will ask the team if we should bury him
here or take his body back to New Pale. If Zane is alive, Tork will leave
the decision up to Zane. Staying or leaving that is, Tork has no plans on
buring anyone alive. Well, except for Dakka... burying him alive might be
fun but then again thats been done. :)
Okay, I digress. If Zane stays Tork will suggest a gathering at a pub in
order to "Hoist a few in victory and rememberance. Victory over Dakka and
rememberance for those who have fallen." If Zane is escorted to New Pale
Tork will suggest we gather before leaving. If Zane survives Tork will not
allow him to travel 'in his weakened state'. If Zane is DOA then an honor
guard should accompany him home. Tork will volunteer for either duty.
Long term goals: Tork will suggest, once Metrosphere is back on its feet, is
that a memorial be set up for those that have fallen. In Tork's mind the
best place for the memorial is in the spot where the Whisper landed.
Beyond that depends a lot on the other team-mates. If everyone is
scattering to the four corners of the galaxy Tork will probably stick around
Metrosphere until it is up and running again and then move on. He feels a
somewhat personally responsible for Metrosphere's condition. Sure, he did
not fire the rockets into the Spire but the Monorail Tube is his doing.
If the team, or at least two other members, decide to stay in Metrosphere
Tork will probably stick around. He won't go back to Hentz and the team is
the closest thing he has to a family. He won't *admit* that but will freely
admit that "we've been through a lot together". The only downside to
sticking around is Tork would like to see more of the Frontier and
eventually gain his Starship Pilots license. It would be a little hard to
do that planetside. Worse case senario Tork will attempt to maintain a
residence on Metrosphere as a "home base".
One last note: While freeing the prisoners and looking for Dakka, Tork
resupply himself if the opportunity presents itself. Main things he will be
looking for are maching gun ammo, an Automatic Rifle ( assuming I don't get
mine back from the LP's ), an extra Automatic Pistol, grenades, and TD-19.
Probally won't find most of this unless we raid the mall gun shop or the
police armory, but just in case... :)

From: John Whitfield (T'Klkk)
The first thing that T'Klkk will do is rejoin the others. When she sees
Zane's body she will turn to Urugg and ask if he can hook up a freeze field.
If Urugg is not skilled enough to attempt treatment, she will attempt to
locate medical personnel who are able to do so in the hopes that he is only
recently dead and can be revived. (OOC: Oh, god. The image of the Monty
Python skit "Bring out your dead" keeps running through my mind. Forgive
me!!) :-)
With all that has happened, there is sure to be chaos. T'Klkk will organize
an effort to locate the First Landing inhabitants, encouraging them to all
return to their homes and wait for loved ones to meet them there. She'll
want
to identify a central location (perhaps the police office??) to receive
missing persons reports for those who do not return home within 12 hours.
She'll check with Syzygy and Taanik to see what kind of city-wide
communication is possible considering the damage to the Central Computer
Spire. If none, they'll have to depend on 2-way radios, and set up
volunteer
rescue teams which report back to a central base.
T'Klkk will definitely want to stay until the chaos subsides and people are
able to get back to their lives. She'll then turn to the others and ask
them
what their plans are. She'll note that they made a hell of a team working
together and inquire how many would want to stay together. They could stay
on
First Landing, or they could take to the frontier for more adventures.
Either
way, she'll try to encourage the rest of the group to stay together.
Had a great time!! Is this the end?

Perhaps we should use the police station for both bases. And lets not
forget to get those people out of the mines.

Even though he has endured getting woke up by a "blob" staing him in the
face and an upside down communications panel Tork will admit we have worked
together well as a team. He is most willing to try and keep the team
together.

From: Andy Campbell (Urugg)
Hi all! I have to admit I was, uh, stunned to dicover that this was our last
turn of the game. I must admit I've really gotten into our biweekly escapades
and am going to miss it . Layne will be severely burdened by real life
concerns for the near future so this looks like the "end of the line, yes? end
of the line" for our merry band of Frontier stiffs.
Since this is the end I would like to thank Layne for running a fantastic game
- this was my first PBEM, and I'll admit I wasn't expecting much from it. Now
I'd recommend trying one to anybody, and personally doubt I'll have the
pleasure of playing in a game this good for the foreseeable future. On a
related note, we had a hell of a gaming group too, which is increasingly hard
to find these days; so for that, thanks to all of my co-conspirators for some
great gameplay as well : )
And now, closing arguments ; )
1) On Zane:
When Kare radios in about Zane's condition, Urugg's war whoops of celebration
will be choked off as quickly as if a Gorlian thug had a death grip on his
throat. As the staticy words filter over the radio, his brows furrow and his
mind races. No options, no options, no op- "Kare - you have onbe chance to
keep Zane alive! Get back to the lifepod or check your gear if you have it!
Your only chance is to shoot him up with staydose! It'll buy us time to get
out to you - but you've got less than a minute to inject it!" Not wanting to
complicate things by yammering on, he'll shut up while she checks her kitbag
(if she has it) and / or checks the pod. If she locates it, he'll talk her
through loading the hypo if she needs help and hope for the best.
If time runs out, or if there is no staydose close by, Urugg's formerly
jubilant mood will turn black as midnight. Years ago, he lost a friend
because he didn't act fast enough, and vowed to never let that happen again.
Despite the fact that there's no way to get to Zane form the control tower,
Urugg will feel responsible for the human's death and will withdraw deep into
himself, speaking only when necessary to get something done or explain
something while working.
In the event of Zane's death, Urugg will organize an informal funeral
(ourselves present, plus whatever religious officiating type he can scrape up
in the colony). He will then contact Zane's next of kin and take
responsibility for getting the body frozen and arranging for transport to his
homeworld .
2) On Dakka:
Urugg is in complete agreement with Kare that we need a body. Given Dakka's
intelligence and sheer drive, we can't be sure the fiend won't weasel out of
the collapse somehow and haunt us later. Urugg will gather the equipment he
needs to help in the search that the enviroscanner won't handle: seismic
equipment (detect slight tremors in the rubble, indicating movement), gas
"sniffers" (detect gasses produced by human respiration), etc. He will try to
requisition some small robots (used for maintenance, cleaning vents / ducts
etc.) that can fit into tiny spaces and navigate the rubble; hopefully one of
the techs cna help with this. Once the body is located. he will subject it to
substantial DNA / retinal / etc ID testing to verify its identity, then have
it flash-frozen in liquid nitrogen and shipped to Star Law for verification of
death. Who knows, maybe we get reward money for this? : )
3) On Spider / Streel:
Urugg will volunteer to help Spider / Streel and Capt. Ap-Harrowretore sanity
to the colony. Life support will need to be brought online / repaired,
casualties assessed, the Lost Pointers reintegrated, etc. He will also
encourage Streel to take advantage of this historic opportunity to offer a
blanket pardon to the Lost Pointers and offer them homes in First Landing or
passage offworld. Other suggestions will be mining programs that spare
Metrosphere's "natural wonders" (a program Urugg had proposed earlier during
the anti-Streel protests) and a "homesteading program" to reclaim Lost Point.
Under the homesteading program, colonists would be offered subsidized
equipment to reclaim the colony; once units were reclaimed there, a
homesteaders' collective would get a 60% stake in the new colony, with Streel
getting a 40% stake and veto power over decisions that directly affected First
Landing.
On a related note, Urugg will make sure he gets whatever pay is due from
Streel since it is still technically our employer. He will also check if
there were hazard pay clauses in our contract ; )
4) On Loose Ends:
- Urugg will get in touch with Maxim Zek'Ket and ask him to come out of
retirment to help Spider / Streel get the colony back on its feet.
- He will get in touch with Capt. Ap-Harrow if she survived, initially to help
with First landing's problems. He will then offer to buy her dinner and see
if anything develops...
- Finally, Urugg will make a point of locating Cimmy and making sure she got
through the crisis OK. If yes, then he will make sure her clan / next of kin
are ontacted and try to reunite her with family. If no family available, he
will make arrangements for her in Metrosphere if possible, or (last resort)
will offer to take her into his own clan. In the latter case, he will contact
his clan on the homeworld and work it out via subspace comm.
5) On The Team:
Urugg has enjoyed working with the team since we first got together. he'd
love to stick together with any of us that are willing and look for freelance
work either here or elsewhere on the Frontier; the only work he will not
consider is military or black ops - he's seen too much destruction here and
has no desire to see / cause more in the near future. In any case, he will
try to get everyone to "go out for a beer" and have a bang-up time in First
Landing's bars / restaurants (hopefully expensing everything to Streel ).
That way we'll all have something good to remember one another by. In
addition, he'll give everyone his private UPF contact number (email / voice
whatever) to stay in touch.
If noone is sticking around, Urugg will consider a short-term contract here
(in Environmental or Psych-Soc capacity) while the colony is putting itself
back together; he'll particularly try to work with the Lost Pointers and the
dissdients on Metrosphere to make things better her, as well as work with the
parks to improve them (perhaps start a program to cultivate endangered species
in the parks). Once its running smoothly again, he'll move on.
Last words to departing team:
"One last thing. Our time here has been a hard one, but together we overcame
it all - not without cost, but with new wisdom born of experience. Whatever
else happens, I will remember all of you, and you will all hold a special
place in my memory.
Wherever you may find yourself, try to look up every so often. Up in that
night sky, maybe - just maybe - the twinkling you see from that star will be
one of us, gazing back. Farewell and godspeed to you all."
Well, I think that covers everything. May have some more final comments /
plans by tomorrow, if I get more ideas and / or if anyone else has final
thoughts.
In any case, thanks again for a great game, and I'll see you all on the list :

This was also my first PBeM and was not sure what to expect. I had a
fantastic time and in some ways found the game to be *more* enjoyable then
live play. I am definately thinking about getting involved in another PBeM.
Perhaps we can do it again sometime. :) Kudos all around but especially to
Layne for a great game.

In his most serious tone Tork will exclaim "HEY, I may be resposible for the
