The young Tork found an outlet in sports. Not only did they get him out of the house but sports allowed Peter to take out his frustrations on the opposing team. As an added advantage Peter could yell and scream all he wanted without being told to be quiet. It did not take Peter long to realize the his father never attended any of his games. Once again the Tork family took a backseat to the 'Family of One'. This resentment served to further disenchant Peter with the Family of One.
When he hit adolescence Tork rebelled the way most kids do. He decided to live loud and fast. It was during this 'age of rebellion' that Peter found his temper. He tries to hide his temper by maintaining a 'laid back' but once he loses his temper Tork is hard pressed to get it back under control. On time while trying to fix some machinery Tork got frustrated and slammed a wrench into the "uncooperative piece of junk" causing further damage. He has since been plagued by jokes about 'tossing a monkey wrench into the works'.
Peter's rebellion got the young Tork sent off to a military academy to 'give him some discipline'. While at the academy Tork dropped his first name and became exposed to the wonderfully loud work of demolitions. The only problem with the academy was the increased indoctrination into the 'Family of One'.
His disenchantment with the Family of One has caused a rift between Peter and his parents. Tork decided to leave Hentz to seek his fortunes elsewhere. This has allowed Tork to 'get out from under the sniffling' Family of One without bringing dishonor to his family.
