Yesterday, I found that this ; is indeed true. I named today's image "The FMOD Fill Wins", ; because I feel that it reveals the full potential of the ; < fmod > inside fill, which I expect to be using more of in the ; future. ; ; With no inside fill, the parent fractal of today's image would ; be a circle with a totally blank and empty interior, and today's ; image itself, which consists entirely of trapped inside points, ; would show nothing more than a flat black screen. ; ; Another big contributor to the unusual effects seen in today's ; image is the < cosxx > function, which is actually an old ; mistake retained for compatibility. The final contributor is my ; Mystic2 formula. I wrote this formula a number of years ago for ; some reason which I have long ago forgotten. It draws nothing ; but empty circles unless a non-flat inside fill is applied. ; ; Because it is different, I have rated today's image at a 7. If ; I had found more time to color it, I might have found a palette ; that raised the image to an 8. The 11-minute render time is a ; bit slow, but a download of the completed image from: ; ; ; ; or from: ; ; ; ; can shorten the wait. ; ; Sunday turned out to be the warmest day of the month, with a ; temperature of 50F 10C. This was just what the dynamic fractal ; duo needed to give them the pleasant day outdoors that restored ; their kittenish good humors. ; ; But today is much colder, so I wonder how long those good humors ; will last. My humor is not too bad, but will improve still more ; when the work is finished. Until next FOTD, take care, and be ; mod. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE================================ The_FMOD_Fill_Wins { ; time=0:11:16:35--SF5 on a p200 reset=2002 type=formula formulafile=jim.frm formulaname=Mystic2 function=cosxx passes=1 center-mag=-0.03699035065064810/+0.431508222672209\ 70/92.81819/1/17.5/-2.15889806032265597e-013 params=-1.728/-0.856/0.119/1.278/1.489/2.481 float=y maxiter=250 inside=fmod proximity=8.5 logmap=yes symmetry=xaxis periodicity=0 colors=000SmgTlfUkfVjfWieWheXhdYgdZfd_ec`dc`ccabbb\ abcaad`ae_afZ`fY`gX_hW_iV_jVZkUZkTZlSYmRYnQXoPXpOX\ qOWqNWrMVsLVtKVuJUvIUvIUuHVuHWuGWuGXuGYuFYuFZtE_tE\ _tE`tDatDatCbtCbsCcsBdsBdsBesAfsAfs9gr9hr9hr8ir8ir\ 7jr7kr7kq6lq6mq5mq5nq5oq4oq4pq4pp6mp8jpAgpCdhDaoFZ\ oHWoJTrLQnMNnOKnQHnSEqVBoUCnTClTDkSDjSDhREgQEfQEdP\ FcPFaOF`OG_NGYMGXMHWLHULHTKISKIQJIPIJNIJMHJLHKJGKI\ FKHFLFELEELCDMBDMACM8BN7BN6AN4AO39O29O3AP3BP4CP4DP\ 4DQ5EQ5FQ6GQ6HR6HR7IR7JR8KS8KS8LS9MS9NTAOTAOTAPTBQ\ UBRUBRUCSUCTVDUVDVVDVVEWWEXWFYWFYWFZXG_XG`XHaXHaYH\ bYIcYIdYJeZJeZJfZKgZKh_ph__4_Lj_Mk`Ml`Ml`Nm`NnaOoa\ OoaOpaPqbPrbQsbQsbQtcU4WRvcRvcTw`zwYWwVXwSZwQ_wNaw\ KbwHfwFewFdwFcwFbwFbvFauF`tF_sFZrFZqFYpFXoFWnFVmFV\ mFUlFTkFSjFRiFRhFQgFPfFOeFNdFNcFMbFLaFK`FJ_FJ_FIZF\ HYFGXFZsLZtL_vHZuJZtLZsNZrPYqRYpTYoVYnXXmZXl`XkbXj\ dWifWhhWgjbXzZbsWglQohRng } frm:Mystic2 {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), c=real(p2), d=imag(p2), k=real(p3), f=imag(p3), g=pixel, z=(pixel)^a+(b*(pixel))^c: z=(fn1(z)+(d*(g)))^k+(f*(cos(g))) g=sqr(g), LastSqr <= 100 } ; END PARAMETER FILE================================== ; ;
