The exact location ; is yet to be determined. Fractal headquarters will be moving ; because the fair city in which it is now located, (Charm City ; they try to call it), has sunk to levels that have gone beyond ; unbelievable to downright comical. I'll not go into lengthy ; details, since discussing politics on the list is off topic, but ; as a single example, believe it or not, the city school system, ; which recently was granted a multi-million funding increase and ; boasts something like a 33-percent literacy rate among its 12th ; grade graduates, is insolvent, and looks like it will soon go ; into receivership. ; ; Now that I have gotten that off my chest, on to the fractal. ; ; For today's trip into Fractal Land, I have returned to the ; traditional Mandelbrot set and the valley of the large period-3 ; north bud, where I found today's midget. ; ; The shape of the midget is familiar. Most of the impact, (if ; that's what it might be called), is a result of the coloring. ; ; I named the image "Iterative Diversion" because it is a brief ; diversion from my excursions into the other planes of the ; Julibrot. The rating of a 6 combined with a render time of 9 ; minutes gives an overall value of 66. ; ; For tomorrow's image I will show one of the strange things that ; happens to today's image when it is viewed from a different ; direction. Until then, be aware that the finished GIF file of ; the image is available for download on Paul's web site at: ; ; ; ; The weather remained pleasant all day here at Fractal Central on ; Monday, with lots of sun and a temperature of 48F 9C. These ; conditions kept the fractal cats satisfied from dawn to dusk. ; Today is starting cloudy and chilly, with the possibility of a ; little snow. We'll see how it goes. ; ; For me, the work is slightly heavy -- nothing that I cannot ; finish in plenty time to find another fractal. So stay tuned ; for more wonders. Until next time, take care, and iterate well. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= IterativeDiversion { ; time=0:09:09.85--SF5 on a P200 reset=2003 type=mandel passes=1 center-mag=-0.12942475470355410/+0.649525362441421\ 70/3.099803e+008/1/-24.9999914072450728/-1.7447611\ 8168162553e-005 params=0/0 float=y maxiter=100000 inside=0 logmap=5777 periodicity=10 colors=000NotLnuKmwJlxLkuMjsOipPhnRglSgiUfgVeeXdbY\ c`ZcZUcbPceKciGclEcbCcTBcJ9c98c0OcORcVTcaJcSFcWBc_\ 8cc7he7eg7ch7`j6Zl6Wm6Uo6Rp5Pr5Mt5Ku5Hw5Fx8LlBQ`FM\ cIJeMGgPDiSAlW7nZ4pa1rd4of7liAikDfmFcpI`rLYuOVwRSy\ TQcSXIRcNSfRTiVUkZUncVqgWskXvoXxlWviVugUtdTrbSq_Rp\ YQnVPmTOlQNjOMiLLhJKfGJeEIdHObJTaLZ_OcZQiXSnWUsVZH\ K_ML`QMaUNbYNcaOdePeiQfmQgqRhuShySbrQYkOSdNNYLHRKC\ KI7EHKKDWQ9gW5s`1jV8bPEUJLMDRD7Y52cD6YKATREOZIJeME\ lP9mNBgMCcLDmJFnIGnHHnFJnEKoDLoBNoAOo9PeGOWNNNUNUZ\ H`bBgf5nj0og0pd0qa0rZ0sX0tU0tR0uO0vL0wJ0xG0yD0zA0z\ 80rY1tI2qN2nS3lW3iZ6fX8dYAaYC_YEXZGUZIS_KP_MN_OPYM\ RWKTUIVTGXREYPC_NAaM8cK6eI4gG2hF1gF1gF1fG1fG1eH1eH\ 1dI1JEQJFPKGOKHNLIMLJMMKLMLKNMJNOINQIOSHOUGPWFPYEP\ _DQaDQcDReCRgBSiASk9Tm9Tm8UmAUm6Vm5Vm5Wm4Wm3Xm2Xm1\ FlAGk9Hj9Hi9Ii8Ih8Jg8Jf8Kf7Le7Ld7Mc6Mc6Nb6Na6O`5O`\ 5P_5QZ4QY4RY4RX4SW3PipOlr } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ;
