; Today's image is a scene in the fractal that results when 0.6 
; part of Z^(-1.212) is subtracted from 0.6 part of Z^(2.2) and 
; (1/C) is added.  As are many fractals created by this type of 
; formula, today's parent fractal consists of a distorted, over-
; sized Mandeloid. The scene is located rather deep in a broken 
; spiral in what passes for an East Valley of the parent.

; I rendered the scene with the outside set to 'fmod' and the 
; proximity set to 1.1.  This departure from my usually purist 
; outside=iter rendering came about because the 'iter' option 
; draws a rather boring image.

; While searching today's fractal for a name, I was reminded of 
; the 'eyes' in a peacock's tail, and named the image "Peacock-
; Tail Eyes".  Unfortunately, I could find nothing that could 
; raise the rating beyond a humble 4.  The render time of just 
; over 9 minutes results in an overall value of 44.

; will appear on Sep 27.  The FOTD will likely resume its daily
