I will reach this final goal later ; today, and it will appear tomorrow as the midget at the center ; of the frame. ; ; Today's scene is located in the Mandelbrot set, on the eastern ; shoreline of the main bay of a midget near the tip of the ; negative stem. Since I have not yet seen the final product, I ; can not yet give today's image an honest rating. The rating of ; a 5 is simply the average default rating. ; ; Being well within the range of arbitrary math, the image takes ; over 18 minutes to render. Whether the result is worth the ; effort will not be known until the image is seen. Of course, ; all uncertainty can be eliminated by downloading the finished ; fractal from the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; Fans of philosophy must have long ago given up hope that I would ; ever resume my discussion of the great philosophical problems ; about the nature of the 'self'. I have not abandoned the line ; of thought; the difficulty lies in trying to fit my conclusions ; into the rational scientific framework. Our method of doing ; science is totally geared to an assumed objective reality, and ; is truly unable to work with subjective things such as the con- ; scious mind unless it reduces them to the activity of the objec- ; tive mass of meat we call the brain, a reduction that totally ; loses the subjective aspect. The problem is one of describing ; subjective reality in a system that considers the term self- ; contradictory. I have many things to say on this topic, which, ; for fear of offending those with other views, I have not yet ; decided to put into words and make public. ; ; With a high temperature of 86F 30C and rather high humidity, ; Monday was a bit too warm for the fractal cats. They still ; managed almost two hours stretched on the cool ground under the ; holly trees however. Today is starting warmer and more humid. ; It will probably be too hot for the duo. For me, it looks like ; a dull average day coming up. The next FOTD fractal will appear ; in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and a dispassionate skeptic ; is about as rare as a dispassionate religious fundamentalist. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= On_The_Way { ; time=0:18:48.67--SF5 on a P200 reset=2004 type=mandel passes=1 center-mag=-1.9999964703337246818397741/3.09095179\ 16507e-13/1.764905e+021 params=0/0 float=y maxiter=3900 inside=0 logmap=269 periodicity=10 colors=000QSaWWfa`jgdomitsmxpfsm`okVjhOfeIacCYfGSh\ KNjNIlRCnV7pY2jR5eK8`DAW6DR0FUEOXRW_dcaqkRXTGCBL9P\ A4C60`jnZ4FX6LZ7S`9YbBddCjfBhcBfaBd_AbXA`VAZTAXRPP\ `cHjq9sjCncFiYIdRL`KOWERR7UM1XI0`R0d_0hh7_cERZLIUS\ AQLITFQV8YX2eZ1da1cc1bf1ah0`j0_m0Zo0Yq3Xo5Xm7WkAWi\ CVgEVeQWW`WMkWCjWGiWKhWOgWSfWVVdWJmX7vYDwMJtOOrQTo\ RYmTckVhhWmfYrdZchkPkxOfvNauNXtMTsLOqLJpKEoKAnT8fa\ 6Zj4Rs3JZETEObczJANN6FF377h3DX29M16B03ENZ9FN47B4YX\ VsRNeKFSD7E6jU1KEuD9a64JjSsVI`F9IT7rE3R5lF2O7rK8dF\ 6RA4D52Lg`ETO7EC5T8ohewHYfFVQDS9CQGFNMHLTKJZMHWTHT\ _HQfHOmHamRnm`aqZQuXEyWJ0G7VGa8BS68J459220RT0DEB`k\ JWVg8uXu7Of5GT38E1_ecsLreFdSARE5DMFSGBLB7E537CQj9J\ Z6DN36BGa4CS38J2491CcBLavVUoKKYAAHEw2Ah17U13F0Adm5\ KP_ydyQaVDJ1_W0IGD3lvBkg8_T5OE2CA`y6Od3CKa1OJ0CCKq\ 8D_46IBPJ5C9SsQI`H9I8DzG9jC6V83F4C4Bn`zPIVr3lK7TM8\ PO8LQ9HSADUB9VB5tf8DISKNX } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ;
