It is ; because today's image is a repeat of yesterday's image, with ; only a few changes added. Those changes are in the magnitude, ; escape radius, and inside fill. ; ; To start, I slightly decreased the magnitude of yesterday's ; image to include a bit more of the surrounding features. Then I ; increased the escape radius from 100 to 1100, a change that ; partly evaporated the image. Finally, I rendered the increased ; 'inside' area with the 'bof61' option to add extra life. The ; result is today's image, which I have named "Venetian Opened", ; assuming that someone has opened yesterday's blinds. ; ; The final image is not quite up to yesterday's, so I could rate ; it no higher than a 7, but it is still worth a look, and with a ; render time of almost exactly 9 minutes, it is, at least in my ; opinion, worth the effort. Those whose opinions differ may ; avoid the task of rendering by downloading the pre-rendered GIF ; image from the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; Partly cloudy skies, bearable humidity, and a high temperature ; of 86F 30C made outdoor conditions near ideal for the fractal ; cats on Wednesday. In fact, the conditions were a bit too ; ideal. Tippy refused to come in when evening arrived, and had ; to be carried inside bodily, grumbling to himself all the way. ; Today is starting much the same. It looks like another good day ; for the duo. For me, the work is continuing to back up. A FOTD ; hiatus will likely be necessary within a day or two, but for ; now, it looks like the next FOTD will appear on schedule in 24 ; hours. Until then, take care, and when we discover what we are, ; will we need to ask why we are? ; ; Or are we ourselves, with our insatiable curiosity, merely ; inventing all these apparent mysteries? . . . ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Venetian_Opened { ; time=0:09:00.09--SF5 on a P200 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=allinone.frm formulaname=MandelbrotMix4 function=recip passes=1 center-mag=-0.36941160733038520/+1.098637553115404\ 00/2.038718e+008/1/-122.5/4.24088685493650974e-005 params=-1/-1.1/-5/-11/0/1000 float=y maxiter=2000 inside=bof61 outside=tdis periodicity=10 colors=000K5XH4ZE3aE7aFCbGHbGMcHQcIVdI_eJdeKhfKmfL\ rgMwhJqgGkfDedAZcAZdAYeBXgBXhBWjCVkCUmCUnDTpDSqERs\ FSsHTsJVrLWrNYrPZqR_qTaqVbpXdpZep`goahocioeknglnin\ nkommpmormqslsuluvlwxkvuktqlrnlpjmngmlcnj`nUOwfUod\ QpbNp`JqZGqXCrV8sV8sV8sW8sW8sW8tX8tX8tX8tY8tY8uY8u\ Z8uZ8uZ8v_8v_8v_8v`8v`8w`8wa8wa8wb8vaCu_NrYJnWTkUP\ gSXdRWaPaYNbVLgRJhOHiKHkKGhJFgIFeIEcHDaGD_GCYFBWEB\ UEASD9QC9OC8MB7KA7IA6G95E85B84D73F65H68J7BL8EO8HR9\ KUANXAQ_BTcCWgCZjDanEdqEguFjxGmxHjwIgwKdwLavMZuOWu\ PUtQUsSTsTSrURqWRqXQpYPo_Oo`OnaNmcMmdLleKkgMhgOdhQ\ `iSXjUTkXPlZMl`ImbEndAof6pi2qi7qiDqiJqiPpiVpi`pifo\ hfoggnfhnehmdilcjlbjk`kj_ljSOGRODSODTOEUOEVOFWOGXO\ GYOHZOH_OIaOJbOJcOKdOKeOLfOMgOMhONiONjOOlOPlVglVgk\ VgjWfiWfhWegXefXdeXddYccYcbZbaZb`Za__aZ_`Y_`X`_W`_\ VaZX_XZYV`WSbUQdSNfQLhOJjMGlKEnIBpG9rD6pD8mCAjBChB\ EeAGb9I_9KY8NV7PS7RP6TN5V } frm:MandelbrotMix4 {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(-a*b*g*h)^j, k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ;
