; Today's smooth fractal image was created by combining Z^3 and 
; Z^0.3, then adding C.  The resulting parent fractal resembles a 
; distorted quadratic Mandeloid, twisted in such a way as to give 
; a hint of the cubic Mandeloid.  Today's scene is located rather 
; deep in the lopsided East Valley of the parent fractal.  It lies 
; near the coast on the southern shoreline of the valley.

; The central midget sparkles in the darkness like a jewel in a 
; shaft of sunlight.  I promptly named the image "A Smooth Jewel". 
; The smoothness of the surrounding spiral elements also helped 
; inspire the name.  Unsure of the impression the image might have 
; on others, I gave it no rating, but if it had been rated, the 
; rating would have been something like a 6.

; The render time of 16-1/2 minutes may be cut to 12 minutes by 
; calculating the image with the passes set to 'g' instead of 't'. 
; But when this is done, one or two minor and unimportant bits of 
; detail are passed over.
