; The parent of today's fractal was created when I subtracted 
; Z^(1.5) from Z^(-0.5).  It is shaped like an unusually distorted 
; Mandelbrot set.  Today's scene is located deep in some debris 
; just beyond the main stem.

; I rated the image at a 6 and named it "Fractal Fanfare".  I have 
; no logical reason for the name.  I simply like the way it sounds.
; 
; The first impression of the image is that it lies near the 
; escape radius of the parent fractal.  In fact, it is near a 
; cut-off point, but this point is not the bailout.  It is a very 
; strong discontinuity.
; 
; The effect was achieved by rendering the image with the outside 
; set to 'tdis'.  The 5-1/2-minute render time is reasonable, but 
; it is still easier to visit the FOTD web site at:

; The clouds here at New Fractal central on Sunday did not hold 
; down the temperature, which reached 54F 12C.  The fractal cats
