I ; rarely use this option because, with the current version of ; Fractint, it recalculates the entire image when I want only to ; center the central midget a little better. The earlier versions ; of the program simply add and subtract a bit of image around the ; edges without recalculating the entire image. ; ; And speaking of the image, what a strange looking critter it is. ; I have named it "Stinging Nettle" for some reason I have long ; since forgotten. The rating of a 6 is good enough for a scene ; with no obvious midget at the center. ; ; The parent fractal was created by adding 11 parts of Z^(11) to ; Z^(1.1) and then adding C to create a Mandeloid with a most ; unusual east end, (which in today's case is on the west side). ; Today's scene is located in a converging arm covering a ghost ; bud in this strange but interesting east end. ; ; As I stated above, there is no obvious midget at the center of ; today's image. But this does not mean there are no midgets in ; the scene. There are, in fact, the usual infinity of midgets ; lurking unseen within the fractal creature with the stinging ; tentacles. And to prove my point, I will present one of them as ; the FOTD for tomorrow. ; ; The image calculates in only 3 minutes, fast enough for the ; busiest fractal fans. For extra convenience, the finished image ; is posted for quick viewing on the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; An absolutely gorgeous day here at Fractal Central on Wednesday ; was ignored by the fractal cats, who appear destined to spend ; their entire lives safely indoors. But the bright sunshine and ; temperature of 50F 10C made the humans in the area quite happy. ; Being human, I appreciated the fine weather, but I was kept busy ; enough that I had little time to take advantage of it. The next ; FOTD will appear in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and seek ; to find. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Stinging_Nettle { ; time=0:03:07.03--SF5 on a P200 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=allinone.frm formulaname=MandelbrotMix4 function=ident passes=t center-mag=-0.04270312329734255/+0.002592982423470\ 42/55659.29/1/180 params=1/1.1/11/11/0/0 float=y maxiter=1200 inside=0 periodicity=10 colors=000yabpYehVh_SkDOAIPONPanc5bWSlIOfKVaMaXOhJ\ bxMYtPTqo`qCXsKTpV9QUFZTKf9bEEZOJWXOSelI5elI`dTWXc\ 1OP9Ek_2qWEo7C9EHNLL`RsTSccPsUQk_RcdSWiCzVImaN`haL\ 0XNQyyGhfYfiBbcLZZVVUdWe6_PZXPdUPigFaWIodDrl8ut4xj\ 3ua2sS1qJ1oLCrNNuOYxUVwZSvdPuiMu__rQloGym`zIUvMNrQ\ GnUAkXWZgqMqaQZMTHGhQAxYljW`kePlnEq_SKdJgdOYiPw9Re\ UdjO_bXWWesDpeJoZl6KzjYB4mGKmL_B6FKGXxyp0zO7pVEgaL\ YhlaGfYPaVYXSftiyjbu`WqPCkQGlRJmSMnaXzfTt`RkfZlhem\ tnnzsyqoupgqhgAhkcQjgRdkFyxzOYnPcbPi0z47pGEgSLYcsa\ weVrlD9fGKaJUXMddmjY`l70cD7fIDiNJlOrXQce1fsA`qJVo1\ NmAOnJPnpdRcXbquGDNOHOVLOaPPh3TMOpuQfrRYpX6jPcudT1\ _RIWQZ_kjW_lKnbMgeOahQVkyx73ecGXiAjAJ_VCEyuxUHAaNI\ hE7QJDZOJfXIjVKkUMlTOmGAZJEbMIfPMjRgQSbXSYbSTh_55X\ CLUJ_WZyUVuTSqPvXRee7`sIVp4cTV3OU9VTEaSKhXKQUNbnX`\ bTg2MuBNrKOpP7XQDbRJhxw_gegBWGKSYdOL_PVWPd3OKCPVKP\ dXuxZi5WbLUW_GEQKIZOMf000 } frm:MandelbrotMix4 {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(-a*b*g*h)^j, k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ;
