This fractal can hardly be called a fractal. It is ; more of an oversized universe of fractals, consisting of one ; large and very distorted Mandeloid, a smaller less-distorted ; Mandeloid, and two prominent but shapeless holes. Scattered ; around these obvious features lie countless smaller holes of all ; shapes. Today's image is located in the East Valley of the ; largest Mandeloid. ; ; I didn't dare name today's image. I would not want to admit ; what it reminds me of. I did rate it at a 7 however, mostly ; because of the extra snap I added to the color palette. It is ; really a rather striking image. Perhaps the best feature of the ; image is its extreme speed. It calculates from the included ; parameter file in a mere 1 minute and 43 seconds, which is less ; time than it would take to go online and view the completed ; image on the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; No special tricks were used in today's image. It was rendered ; with the inside set to number zero and the outside set to show ; the traditional equal-iteration bands. ; ; The slightly milder temperature of 48F 9C here at Fractal ; Central on Tuesday failed to compensate for the continued heavy ; clouds, brisk winds and occasional sprinkles of rain. The ; fractal cats had an unexpectedly good day despite the weather. ; They spent much of their time in the window, watching two doves ; that were hanging around the porch most all day. ; ; My day was quite peaceful for a change; I hope tomorrow can be a ; repeat. The next FOTD will appear here in 24 hours. Until ; then, take care, and don't let a stubborn fractal get you down. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= FOTD_for_Apr-18_07 { ; time=0:01:42.93--SF5 on a P200 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=allinone.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=ident center-mag=+0.22707356992979770/-1.922856229874522\ 00/28103.24/1/25/7.25679238922083414e-011 params=0.6/-1.4142/-0.6/1.618/0/0/0/0 float=y maxiter=1000 inside=0 logmap=22 periodicity=10 colors=000_VwaUvcTueSsgRriQqkPpmOqoNrqMssLtuKuvUvw\ cwxmxzzzGUPDNJAGEEIFHJGKKHNMIQNJTOKWQLZRMaSNdUOgVP\ jWPdSQZPQTMQNIQHFQBCQ69QKLVXWZZXW`XUbYRcYPeZMgZKh_\ Ij_Fl`Dn`Aoa8qa5sb3tb1v`7xZDqjVjukgqfdnbbkY_hUYeQV\ bLS_HQXCNU8LR4MQ8MPBMOENNHNMKNLNOKQOJTOIWOIZNJXNKV\ MLTMMSLNQLOOKPMKQLJRJJSHITFIUEPTAWS6bR2cP5cO8cNAcL\ DcKGcJIcHLcGOcFQ`ESYDUVCWSBYQAZS9`T9aU9cW8dX8eY8gZ\ 8h`7ja7kb7lc7ne6of6qg6rh6sb7kY8dT8XO9QJ9JNBJRDJWGJ\ _IJcKJXguY`s_Vq`PoVOfQNYLMQGLHBL9GVELdJQnOUxTSrXQl\ _OfcNafX_geYhoWixUipYki`lbcmWfnPioIlpFenD_lBTj9Nh7\ Gf5Ad34bE3YO2TVFKaSBhd2aoIVyYjl_z``xbYwcVueStfPshM\ qiJpkGolDliNjfWgdeeanc_w`arYbnWdjTeeQgaOhYUfHZd1Wd\ 9TdGQdOOdVLdaIdiFdpDdwKZqQUlXPgbKbhFYRVMAiAMcGXYLg\ SQbPUZMYVKaQHeMFiICmEAq9Fm4Jj0Ngd7ohIZlTIpb1keEggQ\ cja_lmWny_pxSltKiqCen4bkDajL`iT`ha_giZfqZfnYblXZjW\ VgVReUNcTJaTGZXIX`JUdLShM } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
