But today, instead of examining the ; shoreline near the negative X-axis, we check the center of the ; valley on the positive X-axis. ; ; We find there a string of interesting fractal objects. But we ; must go quite deep into one of these before we stumble upon ; today's image. We go so deep in fact that it was necessary to ; include the mathtolerance entry in the parameter file to assure ; that the image calculates at the correct magnitude. ; ; And once we have found our scene, we notice that, though the ; equal iteration bands give a rather good image, the outside=tdis ; setting does an even better job. ; ; After all this finding and rendering effort, I was satisfied ; enough with the image to name it "Points of Pleasure" and rate ; it at an 8. The calculation time of 3-2/3 minutes on the new ; P2000 machine would be stretched to around 15 minutes on the old ; P200 unit. ; ; But the time required to view the completed GIF image on the ; FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; is always the same. When one gets there, the viewing is almost ; instant. ; ; Most everyone agrees that the high temperature of 90F 32C here ; at Fractal Central on Tuesday was too warm to be considered ; ideal. And the humidity helped none at all. The fractal cats, ; unconcerned with the outside conditions, spent the day trying to ; get into trouble but finding little. ; ; My day was spent working and trying to stop the fractal cats ; from sitting on the work. Cats have a habit of doing this for ; no apparent reason other than simply to annoy their owners. The ; next FOTD will appear in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and ; how many times can the number one be subtracted from the number ; twenty-five? ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Points_of_Pleasure { ; time=0:03:41.90-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=allinone.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=ident passes=1 center-mag=+0.17536958522584230/+0.000039467196395\ 35/6.59468e+011/1/-120/0 params=1/1.5/0.5/3/0/0/0/0 float=y maxiter=2000 inside=0 outside=tdis periodicity=10 mathtolerance=0.05/1 colors=000kuEeuF_vHUvIOvJIwLCwMVWd6wN8pPAiQCbREWTG\ PUIIVI4TJBWJHZKNaKTdLZgLdjLjlDefLdbBdaTdZidXzdVjEW\ eGVaHVYIUUJUQKTMLTIMSJ82ENSFMLGLEH`WGK8PR4XX1ZU3_R\ 5aO6bL8dIAeFBgCDhAEjDBlF9nI7pK5wQ2qM3lJ3fG3aD4WA4R\ 74M44ZHAkUFybOxeKwhHvkDumAtp6ss3ru0hh0_X0cjEgwSftR\ eqRdnQclQbiPafPpkE`dPUaPLYZEXfDUhCRjBOlALn9Ip0Kp8G\ qGDrNAsSFoWJl_OhcSehXbl`ZpeWtiTqhSohRmgQjgPhfOffNX\ eSdfNlgJtgFpcQl__gQniXikbdmh_ibafYccTe`OgPJ1NE8G8C\ M9JRAQXBWaBbgChlDoqDunUdkjOfhNb`MRULKOKDIJ6DJGJOQP\ S_VWi`_sXvrfczuFqpMikSafYTadLXjDSp5OvIRlVTcgWUzYLl\ RIaLGRFDI9BEAKABK0EK6CKBBKHAKM9PV8Sc7QmUOzUPzPNm5M\ c6KT6JO7HB2FJ7GRCHYHIecJlcJecJ_cJULJNKJHIJBGJ0EG5F\ JAGLEGOJHQNHSTJTZLTcMTiOUoQztRzoPzjNzeMzaKYXJZSH_M\ IdOG_PEVQCRRAMS8IZg6eV9gD7kJBnPzqVzkUzt_Lp`QlaVib_\ eccbdhZemJXpWfqgprszsnroijkebg`WdWO`SGXN8TJ1QG0SE0\ UB0W90Y60_40`9AYEKVJUSOcP } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
