Such brilliant colors are rarely ; seen in a fractal with a limited 256-color palette. I actually ; put over 1/2 hour extra effort into the coloring, which further ; justifies the rating. ; ; The image is a scene near the point where the chaos extending ; from the nose of the Mandeloid in yesterday's 'Parent Fractal' ; image merges into a terminating ring. To make things more ; interesting, I raised the escape radius to the point where the ; 'outside' stuff is breaking up and the screen is about to become ; blank. Then I brought the newly-exposed inside stuff to life ; with the 'bof61' inside fill. The 'inside' and 'outside' stuff ; blends so harmoniously that it is impossible to tell apart. The ; escape radius of 1.36769e+023 is quite critical, and it loads ; correctly from the parameter file. ; ; I named the image "Gestating Fractal", since I expect quite a ; few more good images to come from the same parent fractal. The ; calculation time of 5 minutes on the P2000 would be only about ; 1/2 hour on the P200. The P4 processors do not seem to reach ; their full speed potential with 16-bit programs such as Fractint. ; ; As always, the most efficient way of viewing the scene is to ; visit the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; and instantly see its full glory posted there. ; ; The next few FOTD's will feature further striking images from ; the parent fractal of today's image. When I find a really good ; fractal like today's parent, I can't let it go with only one ; image. ; ; Tuesday was definitely user friendly here at Fractal Central. ; The sky was a clear blue and the humidity was low. The only ; flaw was a slightly too-warm high temperature of 88F 31C, but ; with such dry air, it cooled off quickly when the sun went down. ; The fractal cats must have approved -- at least I heard no ; complaints. ; ; In my department, the moderate amount of work was finished with ; plenty time to spare, permitting extra time on today's fractal. ; The next fractal, hopefully just as good as today's, will appear ; right here in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and we must hope ; that something will always prevent backward time travel, so that ; we can avoid facing those irrational time-travel paradoxes. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Gestating_Fractal { ; time=0:05:06.81-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=allinone.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=recip passes=1 center-mag=-153.3091218623742/+185.2008387397287/\ 2.58795e+008/1/2.51929077138304347/0.01139548530662 params=2.5/-1.05/0.35/-5.05/0/1.36769e+023/0/0 float=y maxiter=5000 inside=bof61 periodicity=10 colors=0008_S9YSAXSE_UJbVNcVSgXXhX`kYcmYhp_mr_rv`w\ w`zrbzzbzlUzeKzgCoU3zW0gM0mP0YS0VU0QX2M_3Hb5Ec6Ag8\ 6j92mA0oA0kC0jC0hC0eC0cC2bD2_D2YD2XD2UD3SE3QE3NE3M\ E3KE2JG0HH0GJ0EK0DM0CN0AP09Q08S06U05V03X02Y00_00`0\ 0`00g00m00r00y00z00z00z03z08z0Cz0Ez0Jz0Nz0Qz0Vz0_z\ 0bz0gz0kz0oy0tw0yv0zv0tv9mv6jp3hk2gg0ec0c_0`V0_Q0Y\ N0XJ0VE0SA0Q80P30N00M00P00Q00S00U00V00X00JA06X00t0\ 0z00z00z00z00z00y00v00r00m00j00g00b00_00X00U20Y20`\ 22c25g28j36m56p56t65w65z85z85z93z93zA3zA3zC5zD5zE5\ zG6zH6zJ6zK8zM8zN8zGGz9Pt2Ym0`p0cr0et0hw0jy0mz0pz0\ rz0vz0wz0zz0zz0vz0ot0hj0c`0YS0SJ0MA0H30K50M60N80Q9\ 2SA6UCAVD9UH8UK6UN5UQ3SU2SX0S_0Sb0Qg0Qj0Qm0Qp0Pt0P\ w0Pz0PzQHPzA0vG0mK5gWC_VJreQMe_Ekg8oo2vw0zz0lz8zzP\ szgpyzmzzjtzgrzcpzcpz`ozkmzkkztkztjzzhzzgztgztezkc\ zkczc_zcXzXSzXPzPMzPHtEEzHCz58zA5o02r00y00S00b00EM\ 0EP0ES2EV3EX6E_8Eb93cS6`S } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
