; Our two-day diversion into the depths of the Mandelbrot set ends 
; today, as we return to the parent fractal for December, a very 
; rich fractal indeed.

; I named today's rather unusual image "Dried-Out But Good".  The 
; name reflects the evaporated state of the image.  Images with 
; negative exponents of Z will evaporate whenever the imag(p3) 
; parameter is set to an extremely large number, such as the one-
; googol in today's parameter file.  With such a distant escape 
; radius, every point is trapped, resulting in a screen full of 
; inside stuff.
; 
; Though the outside stuff evaporates and vanishes when the value 
; of the escape radius is increased, the inside stuff that takes 
; its place retains a memory of the outside stuff it replaces.  
; This is where Fractint's various inside fills become very 
; useful.  The active inside fills, such as bof61, can bring out 
; the hidden detail in the remnant inside stuff.
; 
; This is exactly what has happened today.  Before I applied the 
; bof61 inside fill, I was faced with a most disappointing blank 
; black screen.  But this fill made the ghost of the vanished 
; image reveal itself to the world.

; The scene is located inside a ring in the extreme western 
; exoburbs of the parent fractal for December.  The rating of an 8 
; includes a whole point for the coloring, which I put almost an 
; hour into, and which makes the entire scene.
; 
; The calculation time of today's image, just over 2-1/2 minutes, 
; is a vast improvement over the hours-long time of yesterday's 
; very deep Mandelbrot scene.  And as always, relief is at hand on

; Heavy clouds and heavy showers, along with a temperature of 61F

; nor beasts, but cats, whatever cats are, showed not the slight-
; est concern.

; I kept occupied most of Sunday making the final preparations for 
; the holidays.  And there was also one tiny job to wrap up.  The
