I agreed with her. ; And why not? "After all, that's their job," I reminded her. ; ; Analysis or not, I certainly do enjoy fractals. It's not that ; I'm trying to show that I'm an artist, it's simply that I enjoy ; exploration, and discovering the abstract things that happen ; when numbers start doing their thing. ; ; In today's FOTD for example, I found a minibrot in a most unlike- ; ly place in yesterday's parent fractal -- in the rudimentary ; East Valley of a larger but decaying minibrot at the edge of the ; great fan. Unfortunately, today's minibrot failed to live up to ; the enthusiasm I felt when I first realized that it was there, ; so I was forced to rate the scene at a third consecutive 6.5. ; ; I named the image "Most Indeterminate" when I failed to find ; what I expected. To complicate matters even more, the calcula- ; tion time proved to be an unwieldy 8 minutes. But eternal ; salvation is at hand in the form of the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; where the completely calculated image is or soon will be posted ; for immediate gratification and possible celestial enjoyment. ; ; Perfect spring weather made Tuesday a near perfect day here at ; Fractal Central, and the fractal cats agreed by spotting a pair ; of squirrels scampering about the yard. The dynamic duo made ; sure the squirrels stayed out of trouble, while I finished the ; nominal work. ; ; The next FOTD is scheduled to appear in 24 hours. And I would ; not be surprised if it actually does appear. Until then, take ; care, and who cares what the world is made of? ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Most_Indeterminate { ; time=0:08:04.55-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=allinone.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=recip passes=1 center-mag=+2.7845333264158/-2.7122381527887/1.118\ 171e+007/1/-150/0 params=-10/-1.1/-1/-11/0/525/0/0 float=y maxiter=10000 inside=0 periodicity=10 colors=000cOmfQjiSgkUdbajUipMpuOnqPlnRjkShgUgdVeaX\ cYYaV_`S`ZObXLcVIdUFeTHeTIeTKeTLeTNeTOeTQeTReTTeTU\ eTWeTXeTZeT_cQXbOUaLR_JOZGMYEJWBGV9DU6AT48U79V99WC\ 9XE9YH9ZJ9ZL9_OA`QAaTAbVAcYAd_AdaAc`Bb_Bb_BaZCaYC`\ YC`XC_WDZWDZVDYUEYUEXTEXTEVPCUJASJ9FA7QD6TF5VG5YH5\ _I4bJ4dK4gL4iM3lN3nO3qP3sQ2vR2xS2zT2xY3w`4vf5ug6to\ 7sm8rx9oqDmrHkpLimPgjTehXce`agjY`dUYeQVeMSfIPgEMgA\ Jh7GhCO_HVRMaIRhAbNCr1Em8GgEI`KJcQLVWNTaORgQPmRRkT\ TiVVgXXeZYd_Joe5yj4qd3i_4NR41I94KD7LIAMMDNQFOVIPZL\ RcOSgQTkTUzcVzcWzcXzcYzcZnR_kN`gKadHbaDcZAdW7eU6fS\ 6fQ6gP6gN6hL5hJ5iI5iG5jE5jD5jFCgHJeIQbKX`McYNjWPqT\ QwRSsQToQVlPWhPYeOZaO`ZNaVNcRMdOMfKLgHLiDKjAKl6Jm3\ Jj5Mg7Od9RaBTZDVXFYUH_RJaOLdLNfJPiGRkDTmAVp7Xr5YtB\ WsGUrLTqQRpVPo_OndMmiLmhOcgRUfULeXBd_2`Z5XY8TXBPWE\ LVHHUKDUMGTNISOKRONRPPQPRPQUPQWORYNR`NSbMSdLTfLTgI\ WhFYiD_jAak8cl5el3gg6fc8e } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
