I will ; probably make a few more changes before finalizing the formula ; as DivideBrot4. ; ; Today's image shows an order-17 minibrot lying on the negative ; spike of the parent Mandelbrot set, very near the escape radius. ; I know that it's impossible to have order-17 minibrots in a ; fractal that on the surface appears exactly like the classic ; Mandelbrot set, but I suppose something in the formula never got ; the message, for this is what we have in today's image. ; ; The image was spiced up a little by rendering it with the ; outside set to 'tdis'. Everything else comes from the numbers ; themselves. ; ; I could have used a little more time to work on the coloring, ; which explains the rating of only a 6. The name of the image ; "Order Septemdecem" is simply a fancy way of saying 'order-17'. ; ; The calculation time of today's image is an astoundingly brief ; 13 seconds. So why not take a moment to run the included ; parameter file. Those with machines that get a case of ; indigestion when faced with Fractint may go to the FOTD web site ; at: ; ; ; ; and see the finished image in its full semi-glory there. ; ; Thursday began with heavy clouds and light rain here at Fractal ; Central. But the rain ended at 10am and the sun appeared around ; noon, leading to an afternoon that was hazy, warm and humid, ; with a temperature of 86F 30C. The fractal cats enjoyed the sun ; when it first appeared, but sought cooler spots when it got too ; warm. ; ; I spent my free time working on the new formula and responding ; to an e-mail on the Fractint list. I'll probably make a few ; more changes in the formula before I have a final version. The ; next FOTD will appear in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and ; seek the elusive fractal. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Order_Septemdecem { ; time=0:00:13.42-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=allinone.frm formulaname=DivideBrot3 center-mag=-23.99999459284184000/0/6.080533e+011/1 params=15/12/485/0 float=y maxiter=15000 inside=0 outside=tdis symmetry=xaxis periodicity=10 mathtolerance=0.05/1 colors=000kiMjkJegHacGY_FTWDPSCLOBGK9CG88D79IC_0mA\ SLAXQBaUBfZBjbEeZH`WKWSNRPQMLTHIVCFU8Fa9HiAJpBKlKO\ iTSfaWcj_dgVeeQfcLfaGg_BhY6hW1PWVZcVWKHYOJ_SLaWNb_\ PdcRfgThF0gM7gTDgZJgeP06_MRXjohineimchmahlZgkXtYJo\ bNkgRdgNehPfiRgjT51XA7WFDWKJWPPWUVVZ`VcfVyjgskbmkZ\ lqjjofinbhlZZkl4GmALjGQgMUdRZbXb_bgXr0Op6PoCQmIRlO\ SkUTi_UheVEZMMbPKbWJcZOfUSiPWlK`oFdrAhu6atDWsJQrPK\ qWEpa8pg7mh6ji6gj5dk5bk4_l3Xm3Un2Ro2Po3Wl3aj3gh5_c\ 7TZ9LUBEPC7K9JS6V_4ff5_b6U_7OX7IU8CR96O90LE5NJ9OOE\ PTIRYNSbRTgWVl_WqdXvhYlfScdMUbGL`AC_5AY78W96UA4SC2\ QE0OF4QI8RLBTNFUQIWTMXVPZYT__Wab_bebdgfejifljdjkbh\ kagl_emYdmXbnVaoT_oSZpQXpPWnRXlSXkTXiUXhVXfWYeXYcY\ YbZY`_Y_`YYZWXXUWVTVURUSQTQOSONRNLQLKPJIOHHNGFMEEL\ CCKBBX8Ch5Dt3Dq5E_0ml9EjBEgCEeEEbGE`IEYJEWLETNERPE\ PQEXSLcURkWYrYcnb`kgYglVdqS`vPYzN_wOatPbrQdoRfmSgj\ TihUkeVlcWn`XoZYnaVmdSlfP } frm:DivideBrot3 { ; Jim Muth z=0, c=pixel, a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2)+100: z=sqr(z)/(z^(-a)+b)+c |z| < d } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
