The only downer was Thomas, the one remaining old fractal ; cat. My sister said he has been very depressed since his ; brother Tippy passed on to cat heaven about 5 months ago. I ; tried to cheer him, and he did raise his head and murmur a few ; small purrs when he saw me, but then he rolled over, curled up ; and returned to sleep, where he likely is still with Tippy. ; ; Today's image shows an order-7 minibrot lurking in an almost- ; Mandelbrot set. The scene is located on the northwest shoreline ; of the bud immediately west of the large period-2? bud of its ; parent fractal. I never realized these higher-order minibrots ; could be so interesting. ; ; I rated the image, perhaps a bit liberally, at a 6.5. I named ; it "Chaplet of Fractals" when I noticed the ring of blossom-like ; elements surrounding the central minibrot, each blossom with a ; still smaller minibrot at its center. ; ; The calculation time of 2-4/5 minutes is worth the wait. And ; equally worthwhile is a trip to the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; to view the finished product there. ; ; Hot muggy conditions prevailed Wednesday morning at Old Fractal ; Central, while the conditions at New Fractal Central in the aft- ; ernoon were noticeably better. The temperature ranged from 95F ; 35C at O.F.C. to 88F 31C at N.F.C. The fractal cats greeted me ; reservedly when I arrived back at New Fractal Central unexpected- ; ly early, with enough time remaining in the day to crank out an ; unexpected FOTD. ; ; The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take much ; care, and search for good fractals. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= ChapletOf_Fractals { ; time=0:02:49.91-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=allinone.frm formulaname=DivideBrot5 center-mag=-27.07629943909\ 749/+0.8305626339739348/7.520937e+011/1/-75/0 params=7/20 float=y maxiter=8500 inside=0 logmap=346 periodicity=10 mathtolerance=0.5/1 colors=000RBZSBZTCZUDZVDZWEZXC_YEZZFZ_GZ`HZaJYbKYc\ LYdMYeNXfPXgQXhRXiSWjUWkVWlWWkXWkYWk_Xk`XjaXjbXjdY\ jeYifYigYihYijYhk_hlahmckoeiqghrigskfsmermdrmbrmar\ m`qm_qmZpmWrmXpmYomZnm_mm_lm`kmaimbimbhmchmdgmegmf\ fmfekgeihdgideiccjbakb_laYmaWm`Un`So_QpZOzZMzVMzdM\ z`NzTJzXNs`QsdTsgWskZsoazrdtoetlftjfzgguegubhv_hvY\ ivViwTjwQjwNkxLkxIlxGlvImuKmtMmsNnrPnqRnpTooUonWom\ Ypl_pk`pjboicnhemgflggkfijejidkhcmgcnfboeaqd`rcerg\ `scWs_RsXMtTHtQCtM7tJ6rI6pHzzzzzz6jF5hF5gE5eDzsD5a\ C4_C4YB4WAhimcTz4R83P83N73L73J63I52G52E42C32A32822\ 723943A63B83CA4DB4ED4FF4GH5HI5IK5JM5KO5LP6MR6NT6OV\ 6PX7QY7R_7Sa7Tc8Ud8Ve8Wf8Xg0_h8YiFYjM_kTal_cmfenmg\ oyipvkqtmrrospqtnsuluvjwwhxxiyyjzzjzzkzzlzzlzzmzzn\ zznzzozzozzpzzqzzqzzrzzszzszztzzuzzuzzvzzyzzwzzvzz\ uzzszzrzzszzrzzqzzpzzozznzzmzzqzzmzzjzzgzzdzzazzZz\ zWzzSzzPzzozzozzozzozzozz } frm:DivideBrot5 { ; Jim Muth z=0, c=pixel, a=real(p1)-2, b=imag(p1)+0.00000000000000000001: z=sqr(z)/(z^(-a)+b)+c |z| < 1000000 } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
