The resulting parent ; fractal is a slightly under-sized Mandelbrot set located just ; beyond the left edge of the opening frame and rotated 180 ; degrees so that its negative spike is now a positive spike, (at ; least it's pointing in a positive direction), and its East ; Valley is now a West Valley. There is little out of the ; ordinary about the details of the parent fractal except for a ; scattering of disconnected extra stuff beyond both the positive ; (negative) spike and West (East) Valley. Today's image is a ; scene deep in the most distant bit of debris in the scattering ; of debris west of West (East) Valley. ; ; When rendered in the 'normal' manner, with the 'normal' equal- ; iteration bands, the scene is dull indeed, but when rendered ; with the outside set to 'fmod', the scene really comes to life. ; The entire image has been rotated 180 degrees to return the ; parent fractal and the minibrot at the center of the image to ; the normal position, with the spike pointing west. This is a ; self-imposed rule that I usually follow. ; ; I rated the image at an 8-1/2 which includes a half-point reward ; for the coloring, which gets something from nothing. To see the ; 'nothing' change the outside from 'fmod' to 'iter'. The name ; "Peek-a-Brot" must have some significance, but at the moment I ; can see very little reason for it. ; ; The very brief calculation time of 18 seconds can be made even ; briefer by viewing the finished image on the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; Still proud of catching the mouse on Monday, the fractal cats ; stood tall here at Fractal Central on Tuesday. The lack of sun, ; the threat of snow, and the temperature of 27F -3C, didn't worry ; them a bit. My day was about average. The next FOTD will be ; posted in 24 hours, which is the average time between FOTD ; postings. Until then, take care, and never stop searching for ; the ultimate fractal. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Peek-a-Brot { ; time=0:00:18.86-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basic.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=ident center-mag=-2.524958827887493/0/2.880577e+011/1/180 params=3/2/-1/3/0/0/0/0 float=y maxiter=290 inside=0 proximity=1 outside=fmod logmap=28 symmetry=xaxis periodicity=10 mathtolerance=0.05/1 colors=000zzz0vz0rz0mz0hz0cz0Zz0Uz0Pz0Kq0Kh0Kf0Lj0\ Fn0AqLCnPEkTGhWIf`KZdKRhKKlKCpK5oK0oK0nKAnKEmKImKA\ lK3oLFmMKmNKmOKmPKmQKmRKgSKaTKWUFQV8KW1CXJ4Y`JZVY_\ Ql`LkaGjbBic6hd2geRefMcgJahH_iFYjDWkBUl9Sm7Qk5Oh6N\ e6Lb6K_6IX6HU6FR6EO6CL6BI69G68C6696556426545665674\ 7947A38C38D29F29G2CH2FH2II2LI2OJ2RJ2TJ2UK2UK2UK2VK\ 2WK2XK2YK2_K6`KA`JDaIHbHLcGOcFNcENcCNcAJc9Fb9Ba98`\ DB_GEZJH_MK`QNaTQbWTcZWd_`e_dg_hh`mk`qnamqaitaewaa\ y`Yz_ThU5mc5xUAwQAwOAvOAvMAuMAuPAtRStUOsWKsYGr`Crb\ 8X7jaEaeLUjSLnZDnNFnULoVJoWIpXGpYFpZDq_Cq`Aqa9rb7r\ c6h`OiaMjaLjaKkaJlbIlbGmbFmbEncDocCocApc9qd8qd7rd6\ zi0yh1xh1xg2wg2vf3vf3uf3te4te4sd5rd5zcdyc_xcWwcRvc\ NucItcEsb9FekJdfNdbRdZVdUZdQbdMfdHjdDnd9lclmcimcfn\ ccnc`ncYocVocSpcPpcMpcJqcGqcDraArc7_cdacabcZdcWecT\ gcRhcOjcLkcImcGncDpcAqc7UluWkpYjl_jhaidch`ehXggTig\ PkfLmeHoeDqd9gBamQL68GABF } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
