Its main problem is that it is so small it's ; invisible at the default opening magnitude. But despite initial ; appearances, a tiny mandeloid lies at the center of the opening ; screen, and today's image proves it. ; ; When magnified a few hundred times, this mandeloid reveals ; itself to be splitting apart on its west side. Its Seahorse ; Valley has broadened into a double wedge, and deep in this wedge ; today's scene is found. ; ; The magnitude of 1.6*(10^12) is deceiving. When the parent ; fractal was shrunk, the decimal point of the coordinates shifted ; several places to the left, giving an illusory increase in ; precision. ; ; The rating of a 7 seems fair enough, though if I had had more ; time to work on the colors, I might have raised the rating to an ; 8. I'm not quite sure what the name "Richly Decorated" refers ; to. Most likely it's the areas of chaos. ; ; The calculation time of 14 minutes is admittedly slow, but ; nothing that a SOTA unit cannot handle with ease. (Unless the ; machine is over-qualified, that is!) ; ; Those with over-qualified units may see the image by hurrying to ; the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; and enjoying the finished image there. ; ; Early morning clouds, steadily falling temperatures, midday rain ; and late afternoon snow made a mess of Monday here at Fractal ; Central. The fractal cats agreed, and didn't even try to find ; a comfortable spot in their favorite window. ; ; My day was so busy with other things that I had little chance ; to be unhappy about the weather. The next FOTD will be posted ; in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and be ready for whatever. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Richly_Decorated { ; time=0:14:04.01-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basic.frm formulaname=DivideBrot5 inside=0 center-mag=-0.00069807601274538/+0.000348635434926\ 36/1.609e+012/1/-26/0 params=2.0001/-0.9999 float=y maxiter=18000 periodicity=10 mathtolerance=0.05/1 colors=000o9vmBtlCrjEpiFogGmfIkdJicLgcMfcOdcPbcQ`c\ SZcTYcVWcWUcXScZQc_PcaNcbLcdJceHcfGchEciCckAcl8cm6\ cm7cl8cj8ch9ce9cbAc_AcXBhUBlQCqMCuIDyEDwACv9CtACsB\ CqBCpCCnDCmECkECjFChGCgHCeHCdICbJCaKC_LCZLCXMCWNCU\ OCTOCRPCQQCORCNRCLSCKTCIUCHUCIVEIWFIXGJYIJZJJ_KK`M\ KaNKbOKcPLdRLeSLfTMgVMhWMhXMiYNj_Nk`NlaOmcOndOoeOp\ fPqhPriPsjQtlQumQvnSyrQvoPpmOkkNhiLefKbdJ_bIY`HWZF\ UWESUDQSCOQAMN9JL8GJ7DH66B6BF6GJ6LM9PLBSLDVLFZLHaL\ JdLMhLOkLQnLSrLUuLWxLZrMamMchMfbMhYMkTMnNMpIMsDMu8\ Mq9On9PkAQhAReASaBTZBUWCVTCWQCXMDYJDZGE_DE`04_AEaJ\ NbSWc`eeinfqxirwgrvervcsuasu`stZstXtsVutTvuSwvQxwO\ yxMzyLzxJzwHzuFzsDyqCxoAwm8wl6wl5piFjgOdeXZbfT`oNZ\ xMYwMXvMWuLWtLVsLUsLUrKTqKSpKRoURoUQpUPqUPrUOsUNtU\ NuUMvULwUKxUKyUJzUKzULzULzUNvUMrUMmUNhUOcUQZUSUUTP\ WVKXUFYTEZSFZRH_QI`PJ`OLaNMbMNcLOcKQdJReISeHUfGVgF\ WhEXhDZiC_jB`jAbk9cl8dl8e } frm:DivideBrot5 { ; Jim Muth z=(0,0), c=pixel, a=real(p1)-2, b=imag(p1)+0.00000000000000000001: z=sqr(z)/(z^(-a)+b)+c |z| < 1000000 } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
