Yes, I ; realize that Valentine's Day was yesterday, but I am writing ; this Yesterday, so it really is, or was, Valentines Day. ; ; I haven't the slightest idea what a valenfractal is, and a ; glance at today's image will be of no help in solving the ; mystery. But the image is one of those that calculates faster ; than light and therefore finishes before it starts. ; ; The image is located on the main stem of its parent, which is ; just starting to morph from an order-13 Mandeloid into an ; oversized Mandelbrot set. The many minibrots in the image are ; still of order-13, with 12 lobes, but don't ask what the ; minibrots with 25 lobes are doing in the image. All I can say ; is that fractals are very mysterious. ; ; I rated the image at an average 7. As I said above, the ; 4-second image finishes before it starts, so don't forget to ; start the calculation when the image appears already finished on ; your screen. Failure to follow these instructions will set off ; an unstable feedback in time, which will result in the destruc- ; tion of the universe. ; ; To avoid all such apocalyptic dangers, hurry to the FOTD web ; site at: ; ; ; ; and view the completed image there. ; ; Actually, the image is a rather pleasant one, with the overall ; pattern repeating itself at ever smaller scales all the way to ; infinitesimal infinity. ; ; Valentine's Day brought very real flurries of snow to Fractal ; Central, while the temperature of 37C 3C made sure the snow ; melted as fast as it fell. The lack of sun brought dissatisfac- ; tion to the fractal cats, while the reasonably quiet day brought ; peace to the rest of us. The next FOTD will be posted in 24 ; hours. Until then, take care, and stand out above the crowd. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Be_My_Valenfractal { ; time=0:00:04.32-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basic.frm formulaname=DivideBrot5 center-mag=-3.328155158369\ 073/0/5.2654e+011 params=13/2 float=y maxiter=1500 symmetry=xaxis periodicity=10 mathtolerance=0.05/1 colors=000zwzWUU_`d`_a`Z_`ZX`YV`XSEMvIOqLQlORgSTcV\ UZYWU24_89YEEWKJVQOTWTRFHhKLdOO`TRXK00O00Q00S00U00\ W00Y00_00a00c00e00gAIiEDlG9lMBoPCpUDrYEubFvdGs_DpS\ AhH7_64QA8LEBaPUOIESMHVQKYUNJgRMeQPcQRbQU`QW_QZYQU\ bvvt9rpCnlFkhIgdLc`O9GrJMhSSZ4UcFVZQWU3HC8KEDMGIOI\ NRKSTMXVOAYDEXFHXHLXIOXKRXMVXNYXPV0vW6pXBkYHeZM`_S\ VOgmTceX_Y4ZAAYDFYGLYIQXLWXOggwAMzEOtIQoMRjQTdUU_Y\ WVgDct5tpAnmFijJdfO_cTVph_mfYjdWhbVe`TbZRx`4t_8pZC\ lZFhYJdXN`V8`WB`WD`WF`WH`XK`XM`XOku4hnAehFbbLvkzrh\ tofoldjibdf`_cZVV`JexJdrLclMbgOaaPasy`km`caH8bLD_P\ IXTNVXSS2Io7KkBMhGOeKQbOSZTUWXWTQQCTSGWUJZWNz4Jv8K\ sCLpFMmJNiNOfQPcUQ0fHAcKJaMSZOPxaRt_SqZUmXVjWXfUYc\ T__R3Kc8MaCO_GPYKRXPTVTUTXWRx34lIFw92sD6oHAkLEgPIc\ TModPUJBVLDWNFXPHYQJZSL_UN`WPsPRUZCWYFXYHYYJZXM_XO\ mWZkXXiXWhXVfXUdXTcXSaXR3RyKUgPzeRubTp_VkYXfVZaSTc\ yVapX_gZYZ1Cu7FpCIkHLgHLg } frm:DivideBrot5 { ; Jim Muth z=(0,0), c=pixel, a=real(p1)-2, b=imag(p1)+0.00000000000000000001: z=sqr(z)/(z^(-a)+b)+c |z| < 1000000 } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
