And what do we see? . . . more fractal ; elephants! ; ; The elephants are everywhere when the period-30 East Valley ; elephant complex is viewed in this direction, but they are well ; hidden. I had to do quite a bit of stretching and skewing to ; make them recognizable. ; ; The baby elephant in the upper left corner is almost, should I ; say . . . cute. It actually appears to be leaping into the air, ; something I doubt an everyday elephant could do. ; ; And what about those elephants at the right edge of the frame? ; They seem to be falling into an abyss. They really are fractal ; elephants, but since when do elephants behave like this? ; ; Also, where are the double-spiral things that look like big eyes ; with a big bulbous nose between? They are everywhere in every ; East Valley. Actually, they are closely related to the fractal ; elephants, though the connection will have to wait until another ; day. ; ; Tomorrow's FOTD will show some Elliptic elephants. They are ; there in the Elliptic planes also. ; ; The rating of a 7 that I gave today's image might be a bit ; liberal. And the calculation time of under 6 minutes may be ; eliminated entirely by viewing the finished image on the FOTD ; web site at: ; ; ; ; Typical early July weather prevailed here at Fractal Central on ; Tuesday. The temperature of 84F 29C and partly cloudy skies ; were right on the normal mark. The fractal cats slept through ; most of it. My day was rather busy but still under control. ; The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take ; care, and fly like an elephant. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= ParabolicElephants { ; time=0:05:50.97-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basic.frm formulaname=SliceJulibrot4 passes=t maxiter=27500 center-mag=-0.00059573625921465/-0.446555463085238\ 70/1341.626/0.2304/90/-86.8491299926404423 params=0/90/0/0/0.26090366/-0.00195958/0/0/2/0 float=y inside=0 logmap=29 periodicity=10 colors=000wzMxzLwzKuzKszJqzIozHlzHizGfzGczG`zFYzHW\ zKUzNSyQRxTQxWPxZPyaPycPyePxgPxjPxmPwpPwsPwvPwwPvw\ PvvPvsPuqPuoPumPtkPtiPtgPtePscPscPsaPr`Pr`Pr`Pq_Pq\ _Pq_Pq_Pp_PpZPpZPoZPoZPoYPnYPnYPnYPnYPnYPnYPnYPnYP\ lVPiSPfQPcNP`KPYHPVFPSCPP9PM7UM8ZK8cJ9hH9mGAmEAmDB\ rBBv89zABzBCzCDvDErFFmGGhHHcIIaKJ_LKYMLWNMUPNSQOQR\ POSQMURKVSIWUGXVEZWC_XA`YAaZAc_9d`9ea9fb9hc9id8je8\ kf8mg8nh8oi8pj9oi9niAmiAliAkiBjiBiiBhiCgiCfjCekDdl\ DcmDbnEaoE`pE_qFZrFYsFXtGXuGXvHXwHXxH`yIYzI_zIazJg\ zJazJ`zKVzKUzKOzLNzLHzLGzMFzMEzMDzNCzNBuK5pM8pNApP\ CpNApOCuPDuQEuRFzRGzSHzTIzUJzULzVMzWNzXOzYPzYQzZRz\ _Sz`Uz`VzaWzbXzcYzdZzd_ze`zfbzgczgdzhezifzjgzkhzki\ zlkzmlznmznnzoozppzqqzrszquzqwzqwzpwzpwzpwzowzowzo\ wznwznwznwzmwzmwzmwzlwzlwzlwzkwzkwzkwzjwzjwzjwziwz\ iwziwzhwzhwzhwzgwzgwzgwzfwzfwzfwzewzewzewzdwzdwzdw\ zcwzcwzcwzbwzbwzbwzawzawz } frm:SliceJulibrot4 {; draws most slices of Julibrot pix=pixel, u=real(pix), v=imag(pix), a=pi*real(p1*0.0055555555555556), b=pi*imag(p1*0.0055555555555556), g=pi*real(p2*0.0055555555555556), d=pi*imag(p2*0.0055555555555556), ca=cos(a), cb=cos(b), sb=sin(b), cg=cos(g), sg=sin(g), cd=cos(d), sd=sin(d), p=u*cg*cd-v*(ca*sb*sg*cd+ca*cb*sd), q=u*cg*sd+v*(ca*cb*cd-ca*sb*sg*sd), r=u*sg+v*ca*sb*cg, s=v*sin(a), c=p+flip(q)+p3, z=r+flip(s)+p4: z=z^(p5)+c |z|<=9 } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
