In a rush, I found today's image and ; named it "A Deep Dark Forest". ; ; The image is actually a tiny part of a Julia set. Curiously, ; the entire Julia set consists of an infinite string of similar ; but gradually changing elements. ; ; The name refers to the blue, egg-shaped things surrounding the ; central element in the frame, which are actually fractal trees ; that have not quite fully formed. A large number of trees makes ; a forest, thus the name. ; ; I never rate such hastily found images, and today is no ; exception, though if I were to rate it, I would probably give a ; rating of a 6.5, mostly for the coloring. ; ; The calculation time of 1-3/4 minutes may be cut in half either ; by setting the symmetry of the image to X-axis or by viewing the ; finished image on the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; But before going to the web site, give Paul a fair chance to ; calculate and post the image. ; ; The weather was quite muggy at Old Fractal Central on Saturday, ; where the temperature reached 86F 30C and the one remaining old ; fractal cat, Thomas, spent the afternoon stretched on the stones ; in front of the fireplace. I hear things were pretty much the ; same back here at New Fractal Central, where the two new fractal ; cats, Nicholas and Cassie, spent the afternoon stretched under ; the cool air. ; ; If all goes well, the next FOTD will be posted in around 9 ; hours, but there is no guarantee, so don't hold your breath ; waiting for it. Until whenever, take care, and philosophize. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= A_Deep_Dark_Forest { ; time=0:01:46.80-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basic.frm formulaname=DivideJulibrot center-mag=+16.94930143\ 560947/0/1.83592e+011/1 params=90/0/90/0/-0.77/0/0\ /0/1.05/1.5 float=y maxiter=6400 inside=0 logmap=174 periodicity=10 mathtolerance=0.05/1 colors=000MEMNGNOIOPKPQMQRORSQSTSTUUUZZZccchhhmmmz\ zzmmmccc```YYYVVVSSSPRoMDUBIBJHARH9ZG8c32eA5fG7hNA\ mR0kS6iTCkQ9mNCmQFmTImWLmZOmaRrdUre_rgbqddpb`q`YrY\ UtWQwUNzRLzOJzLHzIFzFDzDBzHPzLazOnfHZRAKBF5CF8DKAE\ QDFWFGaHHgKImMIrOzzZzzZmzdcvaUrZKmXvhLmcKdZKXeKWbJ\ W`IWZHQaOLcVGe`Bhg6jn1ltAfqJanRWk_RhgLepGbxB`ZNkAY\ vVWioVYTMO7DFDPII_KCVR6QY0Ld5Og9QjESlIUoMWqNRpONoP\ InQEnR9mS5lS1lb0kl0zeDz_PzT`zNlzHxzJuzLrzNpzPmzQkz\ N`zKRzHGzF6zJ9zNCzQEzUHzXJz2oz9izFczFpzFjzFdzFZzFT\ zFOzJSzMVzPYzT`zWczZfzWezUdzSczQbzObzLdzJez5szBlzH\ fzN_zTUzZNzcHz`JzYLzVNzSPzhazaYzWVzQRzJOzDKz1Bz7Hz\ DMzJRzPWzVaz`fzfkzf8zkpzgozcnz_mzWlzSkzOjzHlzKjzMh\ zPfzRdzTbzW`zYZzScz_XzXazVezTjzRnzOMzOPzORzOUzJ1zL\ CzMMzOWzPezKyzNtzQozTkzWfzZbzaYzYYz`WzbVzdUztRzoSz\ jTzfTzaUzXVzTVzOWz70zCBzGMzKWzOfzsBzUvzSpzQjzhqzWh\ zPdzIazBZz0_z4Wz8TzCQzGNz } frm:DivideJulibrot {; draws 4-D slices of DivideBrot Julibrots pix=pixel, u=real(pix), v=imag(pix), a=pi*real(p1*0.0055555555555556), b=pi*imag(p1*0.0055555555555556), g=pi*real(p2*0.0055555555555556), d=pi*imag(p2*0.0055555555555556), ca=cos(a), cb=cos(b), sb=sin(b), cg=cos(g), sg=sin(g), cd=cos(d), sd=sin(d), aa=-(real(p5)-2), bb=(imag(p5)+0.00000000000000000000001), p=u*cg*cd-v*(ca*sb*sg*cd+ca*cb*sd), q=u*cg*sd+v*(ca*cb*cd-ca*sb*sg*sd), r=u*sg+v*ca*sb*cg, s=v*sin(a), c=p+flip(q)+p3, z=r+flip(s)+p4: z=sqr(z)/(z^(aa)+bb)+c |z|< 1000000 } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
