The basic B-W color palette is a part of the ; Fractint program, and may be accessed by striking ; while in coloring mode. In today's image I added a few pale ; extra colors to give a bit of sparkle. Take away the pale col- ; ing and the image is a true graphic. Actually, this particular ; color palette brings out the underlying forms of the fractal ; quite well. A bit of color tweaking will reveal the basic diffi- ; culty of coloring the fractal. ; ; The iterated line of the parent fractal subtracts 4 parts of ; Z^(-5) from 2 parts of Z^(-3) then adds (1/C). This parent is ; nothing more than an empty circle with a brilliant white spot in ; the center and six irregular islands of debris scattered around ; the perimeter. Today's scene is located in the easternmost ; debris island. ; ; With no idea how to accurately rate a fractal study, I left the ; rating a question. The name "Microistic Disorder" does not ; refer to some vague medical affliction characterized by an obses- ; sion with fractals. Like so many of my FOTD names, it has no ; meaning at all, other than the way it sounds. ; ; Unfortunately, the image is a slow one, which takes 13-1/2 ; minutes to run even on a fireball 2000mhz machine primed for ; fractal generation. The solution to this minor problem is to ; surf out to the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; and in ultimate comfort enjoy the finished image posted there. ; ; Light but steady rain set in at midnight Monday here at Fractal ; Central and continued through the day on Tuesday, while the ; temperature hovered around an un-springlike 50F 10C. The ; fractal cats were happy with the temperature, since it was 70F ; 21C inside FC the entire time, and there was no indoor rain. ; ; My day was busy but productive. If only every day could be the ; same... The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, ; take care, and look for the bright side, but don't be surprised ; if you get slugged by the dark side instead. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= MicroisticDisorder { ; time=0:13:28.18-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=recip passes=1 center-mag=+0.993714689388549/+0.1300117885242976/\ 4e+009/1/-51.5/0 params=2/-3/-4/-5/0/0/0/0 float=y maxiter=10500 inside=0 outside=tdis periodicity=10 colors=000zzzJIKJIKKJKKJKLKKLKKMLKMLKNMKNMKONKONKP\ OKPOKQPNQPNRQORQOSRPSRPTSQTSQUTRUTRVUSVUSWVTWVTXWU\ XWUYXVYXVZYWZYW_ZX_ZX`_Y`_Y`_Ya`Za`Zba_ba_cb`cb`dc\ adcaedbedbfecfecgfdgfdhgehgeihfihfjigjigkjhkjhlkil\ kimljmljnmknmkonlpnlqomromspntpnuqovqowrpxrpysqzsq\ ztrztrzuszuszvtzvtzwuzwuzxvzxvzywzywzzxzzxzzyzutzu\ uzuuzuuzuuzuuzuuzuuzuuzuuzuuzuuzuuzutzutzuszzxzywz\ ywzxvzxvzwuzwuzvtzvtzuszusztrztrzsqzsqzrpyrpxqowqo\ vpnukntomsomrnlqnlpmkomknljmljlkilkikjhkjhjigjigih\ fihfhgehgegfdgbdfecfecedbedbdcadcacb`cb`ba_ba_a`Za\ `Z`_Y`_Y`_Y_ZX_ZXZYWZXWYXVYXVXWUXWU`VTWVT_USVUSZTR\ UTRYSQTSQSRPSRPRQORQOQPNQPNXPMPOMYNLONLXMKNMK`LKML\ KLKK_KKKJKUJKJIKYIKIHKXHKZGKHGKSKUTPKUEKKEUUDKUDUK\ CKUCUUBUUBKUAUKAUU9KK9UK8UK8KK7UK7KK6UT6KKPKK5KK5U\ K5KK6UK6KK7UK7KK8UK8KK9UK9KKAUKAKKBUKBKKCUKCKKDUKP\ KKEUKEKKFUKFKKGUKGKKHUKHK } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint ;
