In yesterday's image the Mandel- ; brot aspect of the valley is totally invisible. In today's ; image however it is visible in grossly stretched form as the ; open strip across the center of the frame. If this open strip ; is stretched about 57 times in the vertical direction, the ; valley itself will become visible, cut off on the E-W sides but ; decorated with all kinds of new and unusual stuff. This can be ; done in the Z-f6 screen by setting the X-magnification factor ; to 0.0175. ; ; The orientation of the image is rotated one degree from the ; Oblate and then rotated 45 degrees toward the Julia. All this ; rotation happens in the 4th dimension, so don't try to make ; sense of it. ; ; The name "Seahorse at Length" refers to the piece of Seahorse ; Valley stretched across the center of the frame. I rated the ; image at a 6 because I did too little work on the coloring. ; ; The calculation time of 16 seconds is no mistake, so there will ; be no wasted time if the image proves disappointing. The risk ; of disappointment may be totally eliminated however by viewing ; the finished image on the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; A rather hot day prevailed here at Fractal Central on Saturday. ; At least the fractal cats thought so. They spent most of the ; day stretched on the cool tile floor. I also thought it was ; hot, and spent the day within range of the cool air. Everyone ; I mentioned it to also agreed that the high temperature of 93F ; 34C was indeed hot. ; ; The day was busier than usual for both myself and FL as we ; wrapped up the leftovers from the big rush job of the past two ; days. The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, ; take care, and stay decohered. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Seahorse_at_Length { ;_time=0:00:16.26-SF5_on_P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=SliceJulibrot4 center-mag=0.0367694/0/\ 0.8392416 params=-45/0/90.1/0/-0.7514/0/0/0/2/0 float=y maxiter=5400 inside=0 logmap=yes passes=t symmetry=xaxis periodicity=6 colors=000VGkWGjXGhYGfZGdZGbZG`ZGWZGRYHOYGOZENZCKY\ AHW8DU5BR29P27N25N35N56N76N96NB7MD7MF7MH8MJ8MK8ML8\ MM9MN9MO9MP9MQAMRAMSAMTAMUBMWBMYBM_BMaCMcCNeCOgCPi\ DQkDRmDRoDSqFSsGSsHSrISqJSqKSpLSoMToNTnOTmPTmQTlRT\ kSTkTTjUTiVUiWUhXUgYUgZUf`UfaUebUdcVddVceVbfVbgVah\ V`iV`jV_kVZlWZmWYnWXoWXpWWqWVrWVsWUtWUuXVsXVrXVqXV\ pXVoYVnYWmYWlYWkYWjZWiZWhZWgZXfZXe_Xd_Xc_Xb_Xa_Y``\ Y_`YZ`YY`YW`YVaYUaZTaZSaZRaZQbZPbZOb_Nb_Mb_Lc_Kc_J\ c_Ic_Hc`Gd`Fd`Ed`Dd`Cd`Bd`Aea9ea9fb9fb9fc8gc8gd8gd\ 8hd8he7ie7if7if7jg6jg6jg6kh6kh6li5li5lj5mj5mj5mk4n\ k4nl4nl4om3om3pn3pn3pn3qo2qo2qp2rp2rq1sq1sq1sr1tr1\ ts0ts0ut0ut0uu0tv1tw2tx3sy3sz4sz5zzEzzGzzIzzKzzMzz\ OzzQzzSzzUzzWzzZzzczzhzzmzzrzzvzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz\ zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz\ zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz\ zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz } frm:SliceJulibrot4 {; draws all slices of Julibrot pix=pixel, u=real(pix), v=imag(pix), a=pi*real(p1*0.0055555555555556), b=pi*imag(p1*0.0055555555555556), g=pi*real(p2*0.0055555555555556), d=pi*imag(p2*0.0055555555555556), ca=cos(a), cb=cos(b), sb=sin(b), cg=cos(g), sg=sin(g), cd=cos(d), sd=sin(d), p=u*cg*cd-v*(ca*sb*sg*cd+ca*cb*sd), q=u*cg*sd+v*(ca*cb*cd-ca*sb*sg*sd), r=u*sg+v*ca*sb*cg, s=v*sin(a), esc=imag(p5)+9 c=p+flip(q)+p3, z=r+flip(s)+p4: z=z^(real(p5))+c |z|< esc } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint ;
