The image lies rather deep in ; the Seahorse Valley area of yesterday's parent fractal, on the ; bud side of the northern branch. ; ; I named the image "Seahorse Empire" because it it filled with ; miniature seahorses. You will have to look hard to find them ; however. They are not very obvious. (I have never been as ; impressed with fractal seahorses as I am with fractal elephants.) ; ; The rating of an 8 shows that I am rather satisfied with the ; image however, which is certainly more colorful if not as ; mathematically interesting as those elephant images of a week or ; so ago. ; ; The chief fault of the image is its excessive calculation time ; of 12 minutes. But here is where the FOTD web sites charge to ; save the day. ; ; View the finished image on the official FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; A high-definition rendering is online at: ; ; ; ; The entire FOTD history may be accessed at: ; ; ; ; Heavy clouds moved in overnight here at Fractal Central, leading ; to a rain shower at daybreak. The rain soon ended but the ; clouds remained for the rest of the day, holding the temperature ; to a slightly chilly 64F 18C. The fractal cats seemed satisfied ; with the weather, and spent the day involved in more important ; things, such as chasing each other around the house and asking ; for more food. ; ; The humans, being human, had more serious things to do, such as ; finishing the day's work, which they did on schedule. The next ; FOTD will be posted soon. No exact time is implied. Until next ; time, take care, and on a recent 'science' show I heard of a ; theory that the universe might be shaped like a dodecahedron. ; The announcer then took a soccer ball and said he was holding a ; dodecahedron, and it might be how the universe is shaped. It's ; strange. I thought the pattern on a soccer ball is a truncated ; icosahedron, a figure with 32 faces, (20 hexagons and 12 ; pentagons), and not a dodecahedron with only 12 pentagons as ; faces. Are TV 'scientists' truly this ignorant of basic ; geometry? ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jimmuth@earthlink.net ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Seahorse_Empire { ; time=0:12:00.00 SF5 at 2000MHZ reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=ident passes=1 center-mag=+13.01990207891598/-1.433774362900849/\ 2.731238e+010/1/40/0 params=1/2/-1/2.01/1/1000/0/0 float=y maxiter=6400 inside=0 logmap=836 periodicity=6 colors=000KF`KF_KFZKGYKHXKJWLKVLOVMSUMWUN_TNdTOiSO\ nSTpOYrKbsGfuCkv8nv4lt0iu5ZqAPnFVfG`_HfSHgLIiGJkBJ\ iCGfFEcGBXL9RN7XOCbOGhOKnOOiVPd`Q_fRVlSQrTLxTNtRPp\ PRlNThLVeKXaIZYG`UEbRDdNBfJ9hF7jC6kD8lDAmECmEEnFGm\ FImFJjKNfPQbUTYZWUcZQcaMcdLaRKZEKU1JP5IK8HFCGAFF5I\ E8MDCPDGSGKZJLeKHmLDjM9gN5dO1aL3_J4YG6XE7VB9U9AS6C\ R4DP2EO4IR5NU7TW8YZAb`BgcDleEqhFvjJuhMtgPsfTreWqdZ\ pcbobenahm`ll_okZojYojXoh_nhclhhjhmhhrfhvdhzaem_bh\ X`cVYcSVcQSUNQULNUIKUGHKDFKBC68948Y77P56G3XqzVnzUl\ zSizRgzQezObzN`zMZvKWrJUmIShGPcFNZELUCIPBGKA0A80A7\ 0ApgIifFbeDWZBQS8JL6CE4zz4uu3rr3qo3ok3mg3kb3h_3eX3\ cW3aU3ZS3XR3VP2SN2QM2OK2MI2JH2HF2FD2CC2AA28820sz1p\ w1nt1lq2in2gk2eh2be3`b3Z_3WX4UV4SU4Pc4Nm5Lz5Iz5Gz6\ Ez6Bz69zcPncNocMpcQqcUrcVscXtmcumcvmcwmcxmmymmzmmz\ mmzzmzzmzzmzzwzzwzzwzzwzzwzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz\ zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint ;
