We're ; doing a bit of remodeling here at FC. ; ; The image rates a 7. I'm not sure why I gave it such a rating. ; Perhaps it is the most disorganized of all time. I can spot at ; least a dozen themes in the scene, all trying to predominate but ; none winning. The arc of quadrilaterals, which inspired the ; name, is probably the most obvious, though several others are ; giving notable competition. ; ; The parent fractal came about when I combined 10 negative parts ; of Z^(-1.2) with 0.1 negative part of Z^(-12.2) and added (1/C) ; on each iteration. It consists of two well-separated parts. ; The main part, which lies at the center, holds a superb fractal ; 'fan'. The second part lies well northeast of the main part and ; consists of a series of rings with a well-defined minibrot ; within these rings. Today's scene lies at the northeast edge of ; the superb 'fan'. ; ; The calculation time of 3-1/2 minutes borders on slowness. And ; unfortunately, the image will not be posted on the official web ; site for several days. It will be available sooner however at: ; ; ; ; The library of FOTD back images is at: ; ; ; ; Today brought a mix of sun and clouds with occasional heavy ; showers of snow to Fractal Central. Luckily, the above freezing ; temperature of 34F +1C melted the snow about as fast as it fell. ; The fractal cat spent most of the afternoon in his watch window, ; chasing the sun and wondering what all the snow was about. The ; humans passed the day finishing the commercial work. ; ; The next FOTD will not be posted before February 4, and maybe ; not until a day or two later. Until whenever, take care, and as ; the millionaire who had just gone bankrupt said, "put the past ; behind you and look ahead to the future." ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jimmuth@earthlink.net ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Quadrilateral_Arc { ; time=0:03:30.00 SF5 at 2000MHZ reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=recip center-mag=+1.994509076742968/+1.331693835073464/\ 1322976/1/91.75/0 params=-10/-1.2/-0.1/-12.2/0/\ 1000/0/0 float=y maxiter=2400 inside=0 logmap=246 periodicity=6 colors=000C8LJGMMHNPLPRLQVRRYTS`XTd`UgaUjfUneUplUp\ hSrnQrjPrlNqkMqjLqiJphIpgHpfFoeEodCocBnbAna8n`7ra5\ n_6kZ7hY8dX9aWAZVBVUCSRDPOELLFIIFFFFBDF8BF5AF8AJAD\ ECCEEDEHFFTFPRENPDMNBKLAIJ9HH7FF6ED5CD39C4BC4CC5EC\ 5FC5GC6IB6JB7LB7MB7NB8PB8QB9SA9TA9UAAWAAXABZAB_7AZ\ AB`DCbGDdJDeMEgPFiSFjVGlYHn`HocIqfJsiJtgLqfNoePmcR\ jbShaUf_WdZYaY__W`YVbWUdTSfRRhPGpKQiNZbQhWTpQXqPWq\ PVqOVrOUrOTrNTrNSsNSsMRsMQsMQtLPtLOtLOuKNcKNuKMcJL\ vJLcIKvIJcIJwHIcHIzHHcGGzGGcGFzFEcFEzFDmEDwECmEBzD\ BmDAzDAmEBvFBmGCsHCqIDpJDoKDmLElMEjMFiNFgOFePGdQGb\ RHaSH_THZUIXUIWVJUWJTXJRYKQZKO_LM`LLaLJaMIbMGcNFdN\ DeNCfOAgO9hP7iP6iP6hP5gQ5gQ4fQ4eR3eR3dR3dRDcKMbEVa\ 8ca2ac3`d4Ze4Yf5Wg5Vh6Uj7Sk7Rl8Pm8On9Mo9LqAKrBIsBH\ tCFuCEvDDwDFtFGrGHoIImJJkKKhMLfNMdPNaQO_RPYTQVURTW\ SRXTOYUM_VK`WHbXFcYDdZAf_8g`6hb8gd9feAegBdhCcjDbkE\ amF`oG_pHZrIYsJXuKWvLVxMU } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint ;
