The exponent of Z is 1.009, which is not quite linear ; but close enough to give a good idea of how things might go as ; the exponent approaches ever closer to unity but never quite ; reaches it. ; ; I gave the image the unlikely name "Floating Continents". The ; inspiration most likely was a painting by Magritte, which ; depicts large chunks of landscape floating in a vast empty space. ; ; The parent fractal is another of those very low order torpedoes, ; with today's scene located in a bit of debris at the edge of the ; nearly featureless main bay. There might possibly be minibrots ; hidden somewhere in this debris, but so far I have found none. ; ; The rating of a 7 is only average; the calculation time is an ; annoyingly slow 13 minutes, but this annoyance can be avoided by ; checking the finished image on one of the FOTD web sites. ; ; Check the finished image at: ; ; ; ; and the hi-def versions at: ; ; ; ; The back images are at: ; ; ; ; Rain with occasional grumbles of thunder hung on most all day ; here at Fractal Central, while the temperature stopped short at ; a rather chilly 50F 10C. The fractal cat wanted more sun but ; satisfied himself with more food instead. The humans wanted ; less rain. ; ; The next FOTD will be posted in a number of hours. The question ; is the exact value of that number. Until whenever, take care, ; and why have those 'end of the world' shows become so popular on ; TV? Could it be that people are disturbed by what they see ; coming in the not-too-distant future? ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jimmuth@earthlink.net ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= FloatingContinents { ; time=0:13:00.00 SF5 at 2000MHZ reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=MandelbrotBC3 function=ident passes=1 center-mag=-3.893895417262991/-1.242689299920607/\ 1.939e+009/1/-177.7/0 params=1.009/0/2/3500 float=y maxiter=3600 inside=255 logmap=-1238 periodicity=6 mathtolerance=0.05/1 colors=000rzztycsxGrwGqvGtucrtGnsGmrIlqGkpFjqEinDh\ mCglAfk9ej8di7ch6bg5af6`e6_d7Zc7Ya7W`8V_8UZ8TY9SW9\ RV9PUAOTANSAMQBLPBKOBINCHMCGKCFJDEIDDGDBEEABE99E87\ F75F71D64F76H88I9BKBDLCFNDIOEJQFKRHLTINUJOWKPXMRZN\ S_OTaPVbQWdSXeTYgU_hV`jXakYcmZdn_ep`fqadrbcrcard`r\ dZseYsfWsgVshTshStiQtnFznEznDznCzuFzqDznCzkBzhAze9\ zb8z_7zX6zU5zS2zR4zR5zR7zR8zRAzRBzRDzQEzQGzQHzQJzQ\ KzQMzQNzPPzPQzPSzPTzPVzPWzPYzPZzMWzKTzIQzGNrEKsBHt\ 9Eu7Bv58w07z26y36x56w66v86u96uB6tC6sE5rF5qH5pI5pK5\ oL5nN5mO5lQ4kR4kT4jU4iW4hX4gZ4g_4fa3eb3dd3ce3bg3bh\ 3aj3`k3_m2Zm2zm2zm2zm2zm2zm2zm1zm2zm2zm3zm3zm4zm4z\ m5zm5zm6zm6zm7Vm7Vm8Vl8Vl9Vk9VjAViAzhBzhBzgCzfCzeD\ zdDzdEzcEzbFzaFzaGz`Gz_HzZHzYIzYIzXJzWJzVKzUKzULzT\ LzSMzRMzQNzQNzPOzOOzNPzMPzMQzLQzKRzJRzISzJRzJRzKRz\ KRzKRzLRzLRzMRzMRzMRzNRzNQzOQzOQzOQzPQzPQzQQzQQzQQ\ zRQzRQzSPzSPzSPzTPzTPzUPz } frm:MandelbrotBC3 { ; by several Fractint users e=p1, a=imag(p2)+100 p=real(p2)+PI q=2*PI*fn1(p/(2*PI)) r=real(p2)+PI-q Z=C=Pixel: Z=log(Z) IF(imag(Z)>r) Z=Z+flip(2*PI) ENDIF Z=exp(e*(Z+flip(q)))+C |Z|
