The exact ; location lies deep in an anti-East Valley (West Valley with East ; Valley characteristics) in a small, obscure minibrot on the main ; spike of the parent. This minibrot has been caught about ; halfway through the process of morphing from quadratic to ; quintic. ; ; The much smaller minibrot at the center of today's image has ; already completed the transition from quadratic to quintic ; nature, but its quadratic tendencies still show strongly in the ; shape of the surrounding pattern, which obviously reflects the ; Mandelbrot shape. The whole thing makes a strange animal ; indeed, which is what I named the image. ; ; The artistic value of an 8 reflects the extra effort I put into ; the coloring. After all, without good coloring, a fractal is ; little more than a screen filled with meaningless chaos. The ; math value of a 7 shows the unlikeliness of quintic and ; quadratic elements appearing in the same fractal. ; ; The calculation time of 1-1/2 minutes is fast enough to ; eliminate any significant waste of time and effort in rendering ; the image. But the task of running a parameter file still ; remains. This task may be eliminated by visiting one of the ; FOTD web sites. ; ; Those with calculation anxiety or over-qualified machines can ; find the finished image posted on most or all of the following ; web sites: ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; Heavy clouds, a morning shower and an afternoon temperature of ; 75F 24C left a depressing pall over the Fractal Central area ; today. The fractal cat, never one to be seriously depressed, ; stretched on the floor, then took comfort under his favorite ; chair cover. The humans made it through another day, with the ; most memorable thing being the FOTD fractal. ; ; The next fractal will be posted as soon as I find one worth ; posting, (my standards are becoming higher), and find the time ; to write something about it. Until whenever that might be, take ; care, and watch for the first signs of the impending collapse of ; our western culture. ; ; Am I serious? That's for me to know and the readers to guess. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jimmuth@earthlink.net ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Strange_Animal { ; time=0:00:50.00 SF5 at 2000MHZ reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=FinDivBrot-2 function=recip passes=1 center-mag=-1.674347715840595/0/5.809659e+008 params=5/100000/0/0 float=y maxiter=1500 inside=0 symmetry=xaxis logmap=127 periodicity=6 colors=000_00a00c50eA0gF0iK0kP0mU0lZ0kc0jg0ij0hk0g\ l0fm0eo0dq2hs3ku2mvArwKvxUzyczzmzzqzzuzzxzzzzzzzzz\ zzzzwzztzzqzvnzrktmhmheccdUZcKUbARa1Q`1Q_1PZ1OY1NX\ 1NW1MV1LU1LT1KS1JR1IQ1IP1HO1GN1FM1FL1EK0DJ0DI0CH0B\ G0AF0AE09D08C07B07A0690580570460350240230120010Fpz\ EnzEmzDkzDjzDiwCgtCfqBeoBcmBbkAaiA_gAZe9Xd9Wc8Vb8T\ a8S`7R_7PZ6OY6NX6LW5KU5JS5HQ4GO4EM3DK3CI3AG29E28C1\ 6A158146024012n7El6Dj6Dh6Ce6Cc5Ba5BZ5AX5AV49S49Q49\ P48N48M37L37J36I36H25F25E24D24B24A1391371261250130\ 12001002pA1n91m91l91k91j81i81g81f81e81d71c71b71a71\ _61Z61Y61X61W61V51T51S51R51Q50P40O4UN4UL4UK3UJ3UI3\ UH3UG3UE2UD2UC2UB2UA1K91K81K61K51U4UU3UU2UU1UUTUUP\ UUMUUJUUGcUCcU9cc6cc3mcGmcFmcEmmDzmCzmCzmBzmAzm9zz\ 8zz8zz7zz6zz5zz4zz4zz3zz2zz1zz0zzwpzunzslzqkzpiznh\ zlfzkeziczgbze`zd_zbYz`XzLszKtzJuzIvzIvzHszGqzGozF\ mzEkzEizDgzDezCczBazB_zAY } frm:FinDivBrot-2 { ; Jim Muth z=(0,0), c=pixel, a=-(real(p1)-2), esc=(real(p2)+16), b=imag(p1): z=(b)*(z*z*fn1(z^(a)+b))+c |z| < esc } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint ;
