Portland Crash Claims

Lives of Two Salt Lakers

Roswell Lyman Partridge. 28 and his wife. Faith Porter Partridge, 28, former residents of Salt Lake City, were killed early Sunday in a head-on automobile collision as they were returning from a dance in Portland, Ore.. relatives here were informed.. The accident occurred two miles outside the city at an intersection Seven other persons were injured in the crash, and two of them are near death, it was reported. Three children, the eldest a boy of 6, were left orphans and will be brought to Salt Lake City to be cared for by relatives of the Partridges. The family had resided in Portland only a year.

Funeral Set

Funeral services for the parents will be conducted Wednesday at 3:00 p. m. in the Deseret mortuary chapel with C. Clarence Neslen in charge. The bodies and the children will be brought to Salt Lake City by Scott H. Partridge of Portland, a brother of Roswell Partridge. Mr. Partridge, who was a nephew of Dr. Richard R. Lyman of the L. D. S. church council of the twelve, was born April 17, 1907, in Salt Lake City. He was educated at the East high school, had served in the 145th field artillery. Utah national guard, and formerly was scoutmaster of the Thirtieth L. D. S. ward. He and his wife were married approximately seven years ago in Salt Lake City. They moved to Portland last year when Mr. Partridge accepted a position With the Ballif Distributing company.

Survivors Listed

Mr. Partridge is survived by his parents. George A. and Lucy Lyman Partridge. Salt Lake City; four brothers, Scott H. Partridge. Portland; Arthur L. Partridge, Francis M: Partridge and George A. Partridge Jr., Salt Lake City, and three sisters, Clara P. Clawson, Logan; Ruth P. Lyon, Salt Lake City, and Inez P. Langlois, Decatur, Ill. The surviving children are Richard Lyman Partridge. John Arthur Partridge and Shirley May Partridge. Mrs. Partridge was born in Salt Lake City March 31, 1907, a daughter of Joseph S. and Elizabeth Lambert Porter. She also was educated in Salt Lake City schools and had been employed in stenographic work prior to her marriage. She is survived by her parents; two brothers, Lambert Porter, Salt Lake City, and Lyman K. Porter, now fulfilling an L. D. S. mission in Spokana, Wash., and a sister, Mrs. Martha P. Holt, Salt Lake City.
