A little gem of a book on early navigation by Dava Sobel, Longitude
Earthcaches are interesting geological sites on a website sponsored by the Geological Society of America. You use your GPS receiver to find these sites and when you do you can log them web for credit! The GSA encourages nonprofessional earth-science enthusiasts to develop their own sites.
We have hidden caches of specimens in various spots around the valley. Your job is to find them using GPS lon-lat coordinates that will be posted below. Take something for yourself and if you can, leave something for the next mineral-cacher who visits. Record your experience on the MCU website. (Details)
