Update

I got a letter in the mail from Rep. Tancredo about his comments. I had written him to tell him that I thought his comments were out of line and he should apologize for them. He basically said "shove it, I'm not aplogizing and it's still a good idea" in a very well written and politically correct (incorrect?) way.
