Q.
How will I know where to sit?
A. The ushers are
there to help you find your seats. In some theaters, your ticket will have
a seat number on it and you will sit there. In the Rose Wagner, seating
is general admission. This means that you can sit anywhere
that is open.
Q. May I talk
while I'm at the theater?
A. You may talk
quietly before the show begins. During the performance you should
be quiet so everyone can hear. There will be a lot happening on stage
and you won't want to miss anything.
Q. May I eat while
I'm at the theater?
A. Food, drink,
and gum are not
allowed in the theater!
This is one way live theater is different than the
movies.
Q. How do I know
when the show is starting?
A. When you come
in to the theater the house lights will be on so that you can see everything
around you. When the show is about to start, the house lights will
be dimmed, just like at a movie. This is the time to get ready to
focus on the performance.
Q. When should
I clap?
A. You should clap whenever
you see something you like. People usually clap when a dancer or group
of dancers finishes a dance. People also clap when a dancer does
something difficult. At the end of the show the dancers will come
out and take a bow. Then you can really let them know how much you appreciate
their talent and hard work! |
