About our Family
Both Karen and I were born and raised in
Ogden. With the exception of Bob's two years in the
military in Okinawa, two and a half years in Norway as a
missionary, and our year at college in Logan, we have
lived here our entire lives.
Karen has been a great homemaker and loving mother to our
five children and a supportive and dedicated wife to Bob.
She has been involved in church assignments in addition
to her family responsibilities and fully supported her
husband in his callings and assignments. She has served
in a ward and stake relief society presidency and was an
Assistant Matron at the Ogden Temple while Bob served in
the presidency. She currently serves as an Ordinance
Worker at the temple.
Bob graduated from Utah State University and worked for a
couple of years at the Utah State Industrial School as a
social worker. He then accepted a position as an Adult
Probation and Parole Agent with the Utah Department of
Corrections. He was there for over thirty years and
retired as Regional Administrator over all probation and
parole service in Northern Utah, as wells two area
halfway houses. In 1989 he was honored by the Utah
Correctional Association for outstanding contributions to
the field of corrections.
Bob has served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints as a Weber Stake High Counselor, Bishop,
counselor in two stake presidencies, and as President of
the Ogden Utah Mount Ogden Stake. He was called as First
Counselor in the Ogden Temple Presidency from 1993 to
1996. He is now a sealer in the temple and Karen serves
as an ordinance worker. In the community he has served
for fifteen years as a commissioner on the Ogden City
Planning Commission and for two years was it's chairman.
He has served on many civic committees and boards. He was
appointed by the Governor of the State of Utah to the
Utah Psychiatric Security Review Board which had
responsibility for those committed to the Utah State
Hospital as "Guilty But Mentally Ill" criminal
offenders.

In 1997 we moved from our old homestead in Ogden City to
a new condominium in South Ogden, Utah.
