Plastic Hemispheres

hemisphere

Hemispheres:

Clear Acrylic. More properly described as hemispherical domes. Excellent for eyeballs, registration keys in moldmaking and prop building. Wall is 1/8" thick. VHH-36 is Human eye diameter. All dimensions in inches. Not recommended for optical use (camera protection.)

Larger domes have a "nipple" where the acrylic was injected. Smaller domes have a tiny dimple for "centering." In either case, if you want a smooth dome you will have to polish this off.

These domes are not optical quality, which means they will distort any image taken through them.

Yes, you can glue to domes together to form a sphere. Just use acrylic solvent type cement.

Wall thickeness is 1/8" thick regardless of the size of the dome.

To Polish off the nipple or dimple: File or sand so the dome has about the contour that you want. Then use increasingly finer and finer grit sand paper until it is almost polished. Then use plastic polish to buff it smooth. A Dermel works great for this process.

Larger sizes are not available.
