National Trails Day
at Ft Buenaventura

EVENT: RM 77449

SPONSORS: Weber Pathways and the Gadabout Club will sponsor a National Trail Days event at Fort Buenaventura. Opening ceremony and free raffle drawing will be at 9:00. Raffle ticket holders must be present when the lucky numbers are read at 9:00 a.m. Admission to the state park is free for this event. Enjoy the fun, food, and prizes.

START POINT: The club will have a table in the first group area on the left just over the entrance bridge.

START TIME: Start between 7:30 and 10:00 and finish by 1:00 p.m.

DIRECTIONS: From Salt Lake City take I-15 north, exit to Hwy 89 at Lagoon and follow into Ogden on Washington Blvd. Turn left on 24th Street and pass over the railroad on the viaduct. Turn left on "A" Avenue and a quick left on Capitol into the Miles Goodyear Ballpark. You may park here and walk over the bridge into Fort Buenaventura, (We are at the first group site on left just over the bridge.)

PROCEDURES: walk, jog, or run at your own pace. Each participant must carry a start card and have it validated at control points along the route. Turn in the card at the completion of the walk.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The 5 or 10K courses are easy and rated 1+. Strollers or wheelchairs are not recommended. The trail is on improved paths thru the entire fort. Water and restrooms are available in the park.

STIPULATIONS: With registration for this event the participants accept the guidelines for AVA Volkssport events and agree to observe the principles of good sportsmanship. Littering is not permitted. The event is open to everyone. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Pets must be on a leash at all times. SORRY--NO REFUNDS IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO WALK.

REGISTRATION: Pre-registration is encouraged. All participants will please pay the required AVA $3 fee.

We have sanctioned events on 15-16 June for the Roy Walk for Life campaign. You may choose to walk in the evening or early Saturday morning.
