SPONSORS: The Gadabout Volkssport Club will sponsor a volkswalk in conjunction with the Hof Winter Festival and Craft Fair, January 19, 2008, at the Weber County Fair Grounds, Exhibit Building. Please plan to join in the fun and German food and exhibit sales. There is a moderate entrance fee, ask for Senior discount.

START POINT: The club will have a registration table at the festival entrance on Saturday morning. Start between 9:00-12:00 noon, and finish by 2:00 p.m. No late starts please!

DIRECTIONS: From Salt Lake City take the next exit past 12th Street (#346) to Weber County Fair Grounds. Go east (right) to traffic light at Business Depot and then turn left to Wahlquist Junior High School. Turn right into the Fair Grounds to the exhibit building.

PROCEDURES: Walk, job, or run at your own pace. Each participant must carry a start card and have it validated at control points along the route. Turn in the card at the completion of the walk.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The 5 or 10K courses are easy and rated 1+. Strollers or wheelchairs are not recommended. The trail is paved road side or sidewalk the entire distance. The only difficulty may be cold, or snow/ice.

STIPULATIONS: With registration for this event the participants accept the guidelines for AVA Volkssport events and agree to observe the principles of good sportsmanship. Littering is not permitted. The event is open to everyone. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. SORRY--NO REFUNDS IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO WALK.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WATER. Restrooms are inside the building, so please plan ahead.

REGISTRATION: Please pre-register by January 18th. Please pre-register to maintain active status on our mailing list.

AWARD: There is no award offered, some old awards are available.
