HILL AIR FORCE BASE ACCESS
FOR HILL SKI CLUB EVENTS

This is for those Hill Ski Club members who are neither military nor base civilian workers, and do not have authorized access to Hill Air Force Base. The following instructions show how to get a one year Hill AFB vehicle pass for access to club events.

A. The Hill Ski club will submit the names of current members to Base Security at the West Gate. When you request a vehicle pass, your name will be checked against this list.

B. Ensure that you have the following documents:

  • Your current Hill Ski Club membership identification card.
  • A valid drivers license.
  • Your current vehicle registration (it must be for the car you will use on base!).
  • Proof of insurance.

C. Go to the West Gate Base Visitor Control Center located before and to the right of the gate, and bring the above four documents with you as well as the car you will use for base access. Tell the Security Police representative that you are with the Hill Ski Club and would like a one year vehicle pass. (Click here for map)

Base Visitor Control Center Hours of Operation:
West Gate: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday 777-6614

D. Complete and sign forms, and have your picture taken for the pass. Within a few minutes you will be given your vehicle pass that is to be presented at the gate you enter. Again, the pass is to be used ONLY for that vehicle you registered. THE PASSES CAN NOT BE USED FOR ANY OTHER VEHICLE YOU MAY OWN TO GET ON BASE.

Additionally, make sure that you keep above four documents (club card, license, registration and insurance) and your base pass with you and the car. The Security Police may ask to see any of those documents at any time.

Important Restrictions: Please be aware that, as with any base sticker used to gain access to the base for the Military and Civilian Workers, driving on base is a privilege and your Vehicle Pass can be revoked if misused. THIS PASS IS TO BE USED FOR HILL SKI CLUB FUNCTIONS ONLY, AND NOT TO ENTER THE BASE FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSES. Please note that misuse of this pass can result in your resignation to the Hill Ski Club.

Additional Notes: Base Security has asked that everyone understands the following:

1. By accepting and using this pass you give your consent to search of your vehicle while it is entering, on, or leaving Hill Air Force Base. If your vehicle is towed or impounded, you also agree to reimburse the towing agent on behalf of the vehicle owner/operator. Occupant restraints must be used while operating a vehicle on DOD Property. A test of intoxication as assimilated by state motor vehicle law or statute is required upon demand by any security force member.

2. The passes are only valid to go to Ski Club meetings and functions. In the past we have had individuals use their passes to get into other facilities on Hill AFB. Misuse of passes are in direct violation of U.S. Code Title #18, violators will be detained and may be charged.

This may all seem a bit, well, "intimidating." Just keep in mind that, even though security on base must be taken very seriously, these rules are easy to follow. We'll still have some great times at our great ski club events!
