"A Double Blessing," by Bessie Pease Gutmann
Comment: "A Double Blessing," appeared on the May 1915 cover of Pictoral Review. It was published as a print that same year. The firm of Gutmann & Gutmann was the first to offer a print of the twins for nationwide sale. Characteristic of the early years of art publishing, images were printed in a single color of ink. Based on the artist's painting, colorists would then apply color by hand. With "Double Blessing" the bow and ribbon colors of the prints varied to meet marketing demands - Pink for twin girls, blue for twin boys, pink and blue or neutral colors
