The tyranist's thoughts
I really like big lizard movies and the little alligator/crocodile sub-sub-genre is my favourite of
all. There is something free and fun and ridiculous about them that generally makes them
vastly entertaining to me. Unfortunately, this is one of the poorer examples of them.
So a couple guys agree to shoot a "blood surfing" documentary that involves them surfing amidst
semi-frenzied sharks. Of course, they happen to pick an island that is also the home domain of
a very large crocodile. Sex and blood follow.
The acting wasn't abominable, but it also wasn't good. The script was a decent stab at telling
a story that could have been a lot of fun. The only thing that I can really complain about related
to the production would be the dialogue, which at times was absolutely terrible.
If you like big lizard flicks, you might enjoy this one some. It wasn't a bad movie, it just
wasn't as much fun as some of its brethren. Of course, if you don't get into the big
lizard flicks, avoid this one like the plague.
