tyranist's Review
This was the first fantasy book I ever owned and loved. I've read it many times over the years and have loved it more every time. Because of this I have explored the Welsh mythos and sought to understand the language. It is the beginning of a wonderful series of books that have enchanted readers for years. Taran is a true every man, even though he ends up being far more humble than most people I've met. It is a wondrous introduction to Prydain and a quick read that can only please. There is depth here beyond the traditional "young adult" categorization. Only someone with years of experience dealing with people can appreciate some of the nuances so read it when you're young if you can and then again when you get older to rediscover the world of Prydain.
