Spectre's Review
Hmm. This book was kind of difficult to stay interested in. I really did not like how every couple of pages it would switch to a completely different person, and spend a long time just on that one person. For the longest time, you have no idea what's going on. You get an inkling of the plot here and there, but it's very difficult to follow. I did like the Sheriff Bigthorne character. If the author would have taken more time, perhaps, and doubled the length of the book and gone into more detail with people, staying on one for a little longer than three pages, it probably would have done better. I enjoyed some of the ideas about the computer AI, and the space station, and I thought the Church of Elvis was kind of humorous. The end was pretty abrupt, you'll have to read it to find out what I'm talking about. I really liked the part where Bigthorne's shack gets blown up. The ideas behind some of the characters were fascinating, just not quite as well developed as I'd have liked.
