tyranist's Review
Neal Stephenson has a gift for language. He has a voice that is pretty much unique in my experience and completely
captivating. This ur-cyberpunk novel is no exception. His future so clearly rang and so engagingly captivated me that I
almost longed for it to come in spite of the true bleakness it encapsulated.
From the first page he carried me through his world of neon and corporations gone horribly wrong. The depth of his plot
is once again simply amazing. Linking Sumerian religion with computer programming looks like a stroke of genius in
retrospect. I have to respect this man for being able to encompass so many themes with what looks like ease.
This book is highly recommended for cyberpunk fans and would probably be enjoyed by all.
