Spectre's Review
Please. This wasn't a book written for a science fiction audience, it was written so Dustin Hoffman and Samuel L. Jackson
could star in the movie. I must say, though, the ideas presented were delightfully horrific at times. The giant squid was
a nice touch, and the jellyfish thing was kind of neat, too. Not near as good as Andromeda Strain (which made a good movie,
too!). The book is written for the lay-person, and has a very simple vocabulary. The scientific ideas behind travelling
through a black hole were completely off base of pretty much all known theories, but it made for some interesting ideas. I
would like to say, though, the ending SUCKED!!! Crichton could have done so much better with the ending then he did. Oh,
well.
Spectre's Rating
Good idea, BAD ENDING!!!
