Spectre's Review
I'm not going to waste a whole lot of time with this one, and I hope you won't
either. It's invaluable research if you're writing a military sci-fi book. I'll admit
it was moderately interesting, but I found myself skipping to the next section
when I was on one of the many plot irrelevancies. Speaking of plot, there wasn't
one until about 50 pages from the end. Even then it was kind of dumb. I know it's
the first in a trilogy, and I won't be reading the rest of it, but it didn't accomplish
a whole lot as a book.
There was a tiny bit of fighting, a splotch of advanced technology, and a mention of an alien race or two, but that's about it. This book didn't rate high in the categories arena.

Spectre's Rating
Minus one for some REALLY bad cover art work. Minus one for having absolutely
no plot for 3/4's of the book. Minus two for dragging on irrelevant microplots. Minus
one for a really stupid end of a conflict.
