ORKRA'AN
Description: The Orkra'an are short, (1-1.5m tall) stout vaguely humanoid creatures, almost dwarven in appearance. They are surprisingly strong, with leathery skin. They have small, focused eyes, large mouths with jagged teeth, and a large, flat nose. Their heads are more compact then humans, but also wider. One particular thing about Orkra'ans is that from adolescence onward, their skin wrinkles and hair greys, appearing like old wrinkled humans.
Orkra'an have incredible night vision, and they adjust to varying degrees of light at incredible rates.
They are sensitive to vibrations felt through the ground, and can sense movement nearby and can easily predict quakes.
They also have a keen ability to hide and seem unobvious. Some
say that they have the ability to be only seen out of the corner of ones
eye.
Encounter: Orkra'an are a somewhat shy species in regards to outsiders. They will avoid contact with outsiders at first but are fairly friendly when openly approached with no obvious intent to harm.
Habitat/Society: The Orkra'an caverns contain a vast library of hieroglyphs and wall paintings, telling of their history. Some are actually translatable. Most are not. They simply point to the walls when asked about their past. "The story has been told" is one of their more common answers. From what can be gathered from observation and interviews, they are a peaceful people, but not willing to interact too much. Some adventure out, but they hide well, and use shadows expertly.
Orkran'ans are still in a PL1, moving into PL2 society. They are sharp and learn fast.
Orkra'an speak a low bellowing language called Lagaran.
They can easily learn to speak Galactic Standard very well.
