Yautja
The
Yautja are a humanoid, alien species whose territory extends out near the Verge.
Although yautja have had brief interactions with humans for centuries, few
humans have lived to tell about the experience. The Verge people have had
a few brief contacts with the Yautja, but this has led to legend and
superstition. There has not been
any evidence to have proof of yautja existence.
The
Yautja are a carnivorous, predatory species whose lives are focused on hunting
and strength. Despite their advanced technology, Yautja space is not very
expansive. They are an advanced species that has developed several
technologies beyond those of current human standards. However, the yautja prefer to hunt for the sport of it rather
than expand their boundaries in space.
The
Yautja are uninterested in anything more than strength and hunting. They
have code of honor that seems warped from a standard galactic point of view.
Yautja males are trained to hunt and are "blooded" when found worthy
of the honor. The males are found worthy of being blooded by killing a
Xenomorph on a hunt. They then are marked with the acid blood from the xenomorph
they killed with a distinctive mark between their eyes. Their code will
allow those whom win in single combat to walk away from further hostilities.
Yautja
look somewhat amphibious/reptilian. They have clawed hands and feet and a
fanged mouth that spreads open on 4 fanged tusks. They have tightly woven
tresses that horseshoe around their heads, and they stand upright, on 2 legs, as
humans do, averaging 2 - 2.5 meters tall. They are very fast, agile, and
able to climb well. They are incredibly strong and durable. Because
they are cold blooded, yautja prefer hot, humid climates and hate the cold.
As
for spaceship technology, yautja are advanced. They have risen to PL8 in
Energy Transformation (X), Matter Coding (M), Matter Transmission (T), and
Gravity Manipulation (G). Finally, Yautja are at PL7 for Fusion Tech (F),
and Computer Tech (C); PL6 for Super-materials...how they have developed these
technologies is still a mystery as they seem to spend all their time hunting and
fighting.
Yautja
starships are crystalline in appearance. They
have crystallis armor that is very effective against energy weapons (not as
effective against other types of weapons). They utilize matter converters for power and have gravitic
redirector engines that make yautja ships extremely maneuverable and powerful.
The largest advantage that yautja ships have is the spacefold drive they
employ to travel faster than light. With
this FTL device, the smallest yautja starship is able to travel several light
years in a single instant. The
largest ships can travel thousands of light years in an instant.
Yautja starships commonly use beam weapons as a preference to weapons
that have stored ammunition. This
allows hunt ships to stay in deep space for longer periods of time.
